With many different fish to discover in Palia, some of them function only at nighttime, requiring players to search for them during those late hours. Some of these fish have a high rarity as well, meaning you will need to come prepared with the proper materials to get them on your line.

The Stalking Catfish is one of those fish that will be tough for you to catch, but it is entirely possible if you are aware of the correct methods to use. If you are looking to pick one up, here's everything you will need to know to grab it.

Where to Find Stalking Catfish in Palia

Unlike some fish that can be found in broad regions in Palia, such as the entire ocean or rivers, the Stalking Catfish can only be found in particular locations in ponds. Luckily, however, it can be spotted on both the Bahari Bay map, and the Kilima Valley map. Here are all the areas where it can be spotted:

  • Kilima Valley
    • Mirror Pond Ruins
    • Leafhopper Hills pond
    • Mayor's Estate pond
  • Bahari Bay
    • The Outskirts pond
    • Ancient Aquaduct pond
    • Hodari & Najuma's House pond
    • Hideaway Bluffs pond

You can use the three above map images as reference to the exact locations where the Stalking Catfish can be spotted in both Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay. Once you arrive at one of these designated spots, you will need to prepare yourself properly to catch this rarity.

How to Catch Stalking Catfish in Palia

Now, once you've chosen a pond, you will need to meet a few prerequisites to even be able to have the chance to get a Stalking Catfish. This includes:

  • You can use any fishing rod to catch the Stalking Catfish.
  • You must use Glow Worms as bait to get the fish on your line, otherwise they will not appear.
  • The Stalking Catfish only appears at night. This ranges from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Glow Worms are a relatively advanced bait, only becoming available once you've unlocked the Glow Worm Farm recipe at fishing level 7. You can purchase the recipe from the Fishing Guild for 2,000 Gold. You can place a large variety of items in the Glow Worm Farm to produce Glow Worms, including apples or blueberries. Remember that your chances of getting a Stalking Catfish on your line is around 18 percent, so don't give up too quickly. Once you have one, you can use it in cooking, display it in your house, gift it, or sell it for a profit.
