Fishing and completing quests are massive parts of Palia, where players can do many activities, including hunting, catching bugs, and building a house. Often, fishing and questing go hand-in-hand where players must fish to complete objectives, as in Palia's Fishing for Answers quest.
Fishing for Answers is one of Palia's secret, discoverable quests across its sizable MMO map and involves players fishing for love letters at sea. Players must also find the mysterious Lighthouse Keeper's secret spot, which can prove challenging to reach and locate.
How to Begin Fishing for Answers Quest in Palia
Players should ensure they own a standard fishing rod, one of Palia's upgradable tools, and a glider before starting the quest. To begin Fishing for Answers, players must visit the lighthouse in Bahari Bay and read the book on a table at the base entrance. Read all pages in the book to accept and begin the quest.
The pages tell players that two Palians, Jabarii and Faadhil, had an argument, with Jabarii not seen since. Faadhil wrote letters and placed them in the sea, hoping that one day, Jabarii might return as one of Palia's romance-themed quests.
Three Faadhil Letter Locations In Palia
To continue the Fishing for Answers quest, it's up to players to locate Faadhil's letters by fishing for them in the sea. Head to the wooden docks in front of the lighthouse to the first dock on the left. Here, players can find all three letters as pictured above and don't necessarily need to look elsewhere. However, it's possible some might need to try fishing in a few different spots to find them all, but they should all appear in the same place.
The letters appear as message-in-a-bottle style items that players must select and click 'Read' in their inventory to open. It can take a little time to fish all three letters, and at first, it might seem players are only fishing out the same letter. However, once players discover three letters, check the inventory and read them, which should show all three different, individual letters, like the one pictured above.
Where to Find Lighthouse Keeper's Secret Spot Location
The final step in Fishing for Answers is to find the Lighthouse Keeper's Secret Spot. Fortunately, a yellow, circular area appears on the map for players to begin their search in the Lighthouse Lagoon. Yet, oddly, where some players might expect to find the spot by the yellow flag marked on the map, there is only a teleport button option that only takes players to the next rock up.
Players can find the Lighthouse Keeper's spot at the top of the rocky cliffs opposite the lighthouse, as pictured below, just past the arched bridge above. Players can't climb up the circular tower to reach the bridge, so must get there a bit more creatively.
How to Reach the Lighthouse Keeper's Secret Spot
To reach the secret spot, players need to climb up back to the base of the lighthouse but stand outside opposite the central, circular tower by the gap in the fence as pictured above. Players must then use Palia's glider to fly across and land on the archway bridge. From there, glide across to the cliff opposite and climb up and across the cliffs.
The Lighthouse Keeper's Secret Spot is visible as a small pile of dirt marked 'Former Lighthouse Keeper's Letter,' directly opposite the lighthouse.
Collect the letter to complete the Fishing for Answer quest and receive the Lighthouse Keeper's ring, 10+ renown, and a Heartdrop Lily as a reward. Players can't sell the ring, but it's a sweet memento of a challenging but worthwhile quest.
Palia is currently available in Open Beta on PC. It will fully release on PC and Nintendo Switch at a later date.
