Palia: Romancing Hassian - Proper Courtship Quest Guide

In order to romance Hassian in Palia, players will have to come to terms with his way of doing things, and this means learning more about the Majiri.

One of the biggest aspects of Palia is its friendship and romance options. There are currently 9 romanceable characters in Palia, with plenty more to be added in future updates. If players want to pursue relationships with certain characters, they will need to interact with them daily and gift items to build their friendship level and then take on romance questlines. Of course, the best romance options are completely subjective to each player, but some romance options have slight advantages over others.

9 Hassian

A Reserved Hunter Who Is Kind Of Grumpy But Super Cool

Hassian Palia
  • Loves: Heartdrop Lily, Emerald, Proudhorned Sernuk Antlers, Dispel Arrow.
  • Weekly Wants: Leather, Sernuk Noodle Stew, Proudhorned Sernuk Antlers, Dispel Arrow.

Hassian is a cool guy who kind of hangs around by himself and always seems kind of grumpy, but when players actually get to know him, he's pretty nice and chill. He's also got a super cute dog called Tau, which is always a bonus.

Hassian is the local hunting expert and will help the player improve their hunting skill as they build both friendship and romance levels with him. His reserved and sometimes rude nature might put most players off, but it might also attract others. As such, Hassian isn't the perfect romance option for everyone, but he's still a fun choice.

8 Jel

A Suave, Snobbishly Charming, And Handsome Man

Jel Palia
  • Loves: Heartdrop Lily, Sapphire, Oysters Akwinduu, Bluebristle Muujin Mane.
  • Weekly Wants: Eyeless Minnow, Sernuk Hide, Oysters Akwinduu, Bluebristle Muujin Mane.

Another interesting option is Jel, who is a very well-put-together tailor. He's also incredibly arrogant and snobbish, but unfortunately, really quite handsome. His dress sense is second to none (as it should be for a tailor), so he always looks immaculate. He's quick to critique the player and other villagers, often seeming rude and outspoken.

However, Jel is another villager who gets a lot nicer as the player befriends them. There will always be a certain level of snobbishness to his demeanor because that's simply how he is, but it gets less and less in-your-face as both the friendship and romance levels increase. And besides, who wouldn't want to date a professional tailor?

7 Tamala

A Beautiful, Mysterious Witch From The Woods

Tamala Palia
  • Loves: Heartdrop Lily, Flametongue Ray, Hairy Millipede, Amethyst.
  • Weekly Wants: Fur, Lunar Fairy Moth, Flametongue Ray, Hairy Millipede.

Tamala is one of the best-looking Majiri out of all the romanceable options, but players have to go to great lengths to even meet and talk to her, let alone build friendship and romance points. She's located on the outskirts of Bahari Bay, a fair trek away from anyone else, and has a mysterious quality to her.

She lives in the woods, and she's possibly a witch, but that's just about all the information that anyone knows about her until players get to know her. And even then, she's still pretty distant. The villagers in Palia will warn the player to steer clear of her, but what would be the fun in that?

6 Kenyatta

The Scary And Mischievous Daughter Of The Mayor

Kenyatta Palia
  • Loves: Heartdrop Lily, Amethyst, Chili Oil Dumplings, Bluebristle Muujin Mane.
  • Weekly Wants: Sardine, Cutthroat Trout, Chilli Oil Dumplings, Bluebristle Muujin Mane.

Kenyatta is another character who is pretty intimidating at first but opens up more when players befriend them. She's surprisingly quite romantic at heart and makes a great companion if gamers put the effort in to give her the right gifts and win her over.

Kenyatta is the daughter of the mayor and is always getting up to mischief. She's bold, courageous, and incredibly rebellious, and players should always be up for a fun time if this is the romance option they wish to pursue. There's some fierce competition from Nai'o, but players can easily win her over.

5 Jina

A Cute, Archetypal Nerd Character

Jina Palia
  • Loves: Heartdrop Lily, Void Ray, Dragon's Beard Peat, Emerald.
  • Weekly Wants: Wagon Wheel, Glass Pane, Void Ray, Dragon's Beard Peat.

Jina is one of the first characters that players meet when they first play Palia, and she definitely leaves a lasting impression. She's cute, whimsical, and really quite charming, not to mention unexpectedly hilarious. She's also one of the kindest characters and will make a fantastic romantic companion.

Jina is the classic nerdy character who is always talking about something they're super passionate about and may or may not go straight over the player's head. If that's the type of character gamers are after, then Jina is the best choice and will make an excellent romantic partner in the game.

4 Nai'o

The Prince Charming Of Palia

Nai'o Palia
  • Loves: Heartdrop Lily, Iron Bar, Steak Dinner, Jasper.
  • Weekly Wants: Wagon Wheel, Wheat Seed, Iron Bar, Steak Dinner.

Sure, Nai'o is good-looking and essentially Palia's version of Prince Charming, but sometimes, that's just boring and not what everyone wants. It's hard to deny that Nai'o is most certainly a very handsome man, but he's also the archetype of a pretty boy, and that's just not very exciting.

Despite this, Nai'o is still a great choice for a romance because he's genuinely a nice person. Nai'o is a family man and always puts others before him. He's basically perfect - almost too perfect, some might say. But hey, if Prince Charming is what players prefer, then there's nothing wrong with that.

3 Einar

Philosophical Robot Golem

Einar Palia
  • Loves: Heartdrop Lily, Small Shiny Pebble, Large Shiny Pebble, Red Shiny Pebble.
  • Weekly Wants: Silver Salmon, Prism Trout, Shimmerfin, Fisherman's Brew.

Einar might seem like a curious choice at first due to his robotic, metallic nature. However, if players put in the effort, a romance with Einar can be surprisingly fulfilling. Einar is Galdur (golem), a machine that was originally created by humans, and he's often got some very interesting things to say.

He's not a blabbermouth, and players will have to put the effort in to get him talking about something more than fishing, but he can turn out to be very interesting and philosophical and genuinely makes a great romantic companion.

2 Reth

A High-Spirited, Cool And Rebellious Youth

Reth Palia
  • Loves: Heartdrop Lily, Dari Cloves, Blueberries, Citrine.
  • Weekly Wants: Sweet Leaf, Heat Root, Blueberries, Dari Cloves.

Reth is a cool guy, and not just any cool guy; he's the coolest guy in Palia. He's a naturally gifted smooth talker, so romancing him is a no-brainer. He's a handsome man with a seriously awesome hairstyle, and he carries himself with a confident yet interesting demeanor.

He's also a professional chef and will help players progress their Cooking Skill throughout the game, teaching them various new recipes and helping them unlock new appliances. It's a win-win when it comes to dating Reth - great personality, great looks, and even better food.

1 Tish

The Romance The Game Wants You To Have

Tish Palia Villager
  • Loves: Heartdrop Lily, Blueberry Pie, Quartz, Petit Fives.
  • Weekly Wants: Ship Fragments, Acorn, Petit Fives, Blueberry Pie.

Tish is pretty great, and she's easily the romance that Palia probably considers as the main option. She's pretty, kind, caring, and generous, and any player would be silly not to think highly of her. She's also a master carpenter when it comes to furniture and will help players with their Furniture Skill.

Tish has blonde hair and will prove incredibly helpful when it comes to decorating the player's home, making her an excellent choice as a partner. She's got this rural dress sense to her that makes her stand out from other villagers, and she's just an all-around great character.
