Highlights

  • In Palia, players can recharge their Focus bar with food to earn extra experience in different skills.
  • Corn, grilled meat, and pickled onions are easy and quick food options to recharge Focus in Palia.
  • Hearty Vegetable Soup, Loaded Potato Soup, and Celebration Cake provide higher amounts of Focus but require more ingredients and advanced workstations.

In Palia, characters will notice a Focus bar that decreases as they perform skills such as fishing, hunting, crafting, mining, and more. Having the Focus bar full gives players extra experience on whatever task is done, even more so if it's entirely full. The more skills performed, the less Focus will be available.

Fortunately, Focus can be recharged with food. For those who plan to go away from the main home and do a few kinds of tasks, a huge amount of skill points can be added with full Focus on each task. Consider packing some of the best food for Focus to keep a full bar.

10 Corn

20 Focus

palia-corn-2

Palia may not be one of the best gardening games, but it does have its benefits. Cooking may not be in the cards when players need fast Focus. Corn is an easy raw ingredient to bring, and will add 20 Focus at a time. While it doesn't offer a lot of Focus compared to other options, it's a good choice for someone who wants a quick grab-and-go.

Corn can be harvested fairly quickly with a 5-day harvest time. However, those looking for a same-day solution may want to consider these other options instead.

9 Grilled Meat

50 Focus

This is one of the very first recipes received in Palia, and can even be a good friendship gift for the villagers. Players get a bow and arrow that they can use to hunt Chapaa and Sernuk in the game. As they are defeated, they drop pelts and meat. Once players have two of these meat, they can use the campfire to grill them without any additional ingredients.

Players looking to obtain bonus hearts in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild should prioritize these food recipes.

This will give 50 Focus per grilled meat and only takes 15 seconds to cook. The chapaa and sernuk are pretty common around the world, and it doesn't take much to hunt them. This recipe is sent to a player's mailbox once they complete the Cooking 101 quest.

Ingredients: 2 Chapaa or Sernuk Meat

8 Grilled Mushrooms

50 Focus

palia-grilled-mushroom-2

Just like grilled meat, the grilled mushrooms are just cooked over the campfire for 15 seconds. This also gives 50 Focus per meal. There are two kinds of mushrooms in the game: Mountain Morels and Brightshrooms. The Mountain Morels are red while the Brightshrooms are blue. Either can be used for this recipe.

The red morels are more common, and players will likely run across these while running around doing other missions in town. Brightshrooms are largely found in Bahari Bay around water and ruins. Bringing in a friend may help cover more ground and gather resources in large numbers by working together.

Ingredients: Mountain Morels or Brightshrooms

7 Pickled Onions

90 Focus

palia-pickled-onions-2

For something that will give a little boost without feeling like a waste, pickled onions are a good food for Focus in Palia. Focus levels start at only 200, and this recipe gives 90 Focus. As long as the preserves jar is already acquired, which happens at gardening level 8, it's an easy way to take a raw vegetable and increase its benefit.

However, it does take 36 minutes in real time to finish pickling. While this is a good prep option, it won't be a good grab-and-go. Those who have not yet reached level 8 in gardening yet may want to take a look at a complete list of tools and equipment to start moving those levels upward.

Ingredients:

  • Onion
  • Pickle Jar

6 Hearty Vegetable Soup

100 Focus

palia-hearty-vegetable-soup-2

Hearty Vegetable Soup is an early-game recipe with a big Focus kick. At cooking level 2, it is available for purchase for just 100 coins. (If the coins are a problem, fishing is one of the best ways to make money in Palia.)

Once unlocked, just take the three ingredients to the prep station and standard stove. In just one minute, soup is on. This meal is easy to find ingredients for, and players can make a lot of it to bring along for long trips away from home.

Ingredients:

  • Chopped Mushroom
  • Any Spice
  • Any Vegetable

5 Loaded Potato Soup

275 Focus

While this recipe takes a bit more cooking than some of the other early options, it offers more Focus. To make it, pick up the recipe off a table in Hodari's house. His home is in Bahari Bay on the left side and down the hill a bit after crossing through the gate.

After the recipe is obtained, all that's needed are the ingredients, which are easy to harvest and make. Players will also need a standard stove, standard oven, and prep station.

Ingredients:

  • Potato
  • Butter
  • Red Meat
  • Onion
  • Wild Garlic

4 Akwinduu Chapaa

275 Focus

Some recipes in Palia cannot be purchased, and are instead awarded as gifts. The Akwinduu Chapaa is given to players after they complete the Lost to the Wind quest. While it may take a little time to get this recipe, it is a great one to try and prioritize getting as it gives 275 Focus.

The ingredients are simple, and it only requires a prep station, standard stove, and standard oven. As players begin to hunt and garden more to get this variety of ingredients, they may want to consider increasing their inventory slots.

Ingredients:

  • Chapaa Meat
  • Butter
  • Potato
  • Mushroom
  • Wild Garlic
  • Spice Sprouts

3 Apple Pie

325 Focus

palia-apple-pie-2

Although she isn't a romancable character in Palia, prioritizing a friendship with Delaila will unlock access to this sweet treat. After reaching level 3 friendship with her, players can enter her room. Inside there is a green book on the counter that will give players the apple pie.

This recipe is fairly simple to make, with only a few ingredients and some easy-to-find or create pieces. However, it does require some more advanced workstations. Baking this requires a prep station, mixing station, and an oven.

Ingredients:

  • Butter
  • Wheat
  • Sweet Leaf
  • 3 Apples
  • Spice Sprouts

2 Celebration Cake

900 Focus

palia-celebration-cake-2

No meal will give more Focus than the Celebration Cake, and a meal like that requires a lot of effort to obtain and create. But once a player has it, they will be able to reap the rewards. To get the recipe, a player must be level 9 in cooking and purchase it from Reth.

Cooking the recipe requires a standard oven, prep station, and mixing station. There are several steps to getting all the pieces together, and some of the ingredients can be difficult to get. But if one has the time and resources, it can't be beat.

Ingredients:

  • Blueberry
  • 4 Butter
  • 3 Egg
  • 3 Flour
  • 4 Sweet Leaf
  • 3 Fruit
  • 3 Sugar
  • Milk

1 Chapaa Masala

550 Focus

palia-chapaa-masala-2

The Chapaa Masala is another big Focus eanrer and, unlike the Celebration Cake, has fairly easy-to-obtain ingredients. Plus, this might impress the difficult to romance hunter, Hassian. The hardest ingredient to come across are dari cloves, a rare spice that can be used in a few other dishes as well.
