Pac-Man World: Re-Pac brings the classic PlayStation platformer to PC and modern platforms including Nintendo Switch. Bandai Namco's official Japanese website reveals new details about Pac-Man World: Re-Pac such as frame-rate, resolution, and the file size.

Pac-Man World: Re-Pac is a remake of the original Pac-Man World with new graphics, enhanced UI, gameplay adjustments, and some character changes in Pac-Man's family. For example, the remake changed Ms. Pac-Man to Pac-Mom due to rights disputes with AtGames. However, game controls and music remain faithful to Pac-Man World. In the weeks prior to launch, Bandai Namco showcased gameplay of the original game and Pac-Man World: Re-Pac in comparison videos.

The Japanese website for Pac-Man World: Re-Pac revealed specifications about the Switch version including frame-rate, resolution, and file size. Pac-Man World: Re-Pac runs at 30 FPS on Switch while all other versions run at 60 FPS. The Switch version supports 1080p resolution in docked mode while portable mode displays a maximum resolution of 720p. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Pac-Man World Re-Pac runs at 1080p resolution. Pac-Man World Re-Pac

Bandai Namco revealed file sizes for all versions of Pac-Man World: Re-Pac. The Switch version has the smallest file size at roughly 3.6 GB. The Xbox One version of Pac-Man World: Re-Pac has the second-smallest file size at 3.7 GB. All other versions of Pac-Man World Re-Pac, including the Steam version, average around 4.8 to 5.1 GBs in file size. File sizes are expected to increase slightly with future patches.

Bandai Namco's transparency about the performance of Pac-Man World: Re-Pac is a welcoming gesture ahead of launch. Players may decide a version to purchase based on the specifications and withholding such information before launch could have been detrimental for Bandai Namco. Pac-Man World: Re-Pac should continue the storied legacy of the Pac-Man franchise in its 42nd year.

If the launch is successful, Pac-Man World: Re-Pac could encourage Bandai Namco to explore remakes or remasters of Pac-Man World 2 and Pac-Man World 3. A collection similar to the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series would allow these older Pac-Man titles to be available across a variety of modern platforms. The Pac-Man live-action movie presents another opportunity to capitalize on the potential success of Pac-Man for the years to come.

Pac-Man World: Re-Pac releases August 26 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
