The Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2021 event is happening a little bit later than usual this year, but fans of Blizzard's hero-shooter will be jumping into the festivities sooner rather than later. Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2021 officially kicks off on Thursday, December 16, and it's bringing with it a slew of new cosmetic items for dedicated fans to unlock for their collection, including a trio of new skins for D.Va, Genji, and Orisa.

Blizzard has officially pulled the curtain back on some of the Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2021 skins that fans can snag once the game's annual hoiday event is live on December 16. The headlining new skin is the Sleighing D.Va skin, which converts the Tank hero's mech so that it looks like Santa's sleigh. It's significant because Overwatch fans have been asking for a D.Va Christmas skin pretty much since the first Winter Wonderland event, and now Blizzard is finally delivering one.

The Overwatch D.Va Winter Wonderland skin changes her mech to look like a high-tech version of Santa's sleigh, and it also changes the appearance of D.Va herself. D.Va's legendary Christmas skin makes her look similar to how Mrs. Claus is depicted in media, with a holiday-themed dress, candy cane stockings, and more.

While D.Va's Winter Wonderland skin is based on Santa Claus' sleigh, Orisa's is based on Santa's reindeer. Orisa's new Winter Wonderland skin completely changes the look of the character, making her much more fitting for the holiday season. The Reindeer Orisa legendary skin will be available for Overwatch players to earn in-game between December 16 and January 6 while the Winter Wonderland 2021 event is live.

Tank heroes aren't the only ones getting new skins as part of the Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2021 event. Damage hero Genji is also getting some love in the Winter Wonderland 2021 event in the form of the Ice Wraith Genji legendary skin. Ice Wraith Genji decks the popular character out with ice-themed armor and gives him an ice sword to wield as well, making it one of the more visually impressive new skins shown so far.

The Winter Wonderland 2021 event will be the last Overwatch seasonal event of the year. Unless there are some dramatic differences in the way Overwatch handles seasonal events in 2022, fans can expect the next event to be Chinese New Year, as usual, which will be marked by appropriately-themed skins and the return of Capture the Flag.

Overwatch is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
