Overwatch, despite what some like to say, is far from a dead game. Blizzard continues to keep the game updated via new additions and returning events, with the latest Overwatch skin challenge being focused on the complex Damage hero Symmetra.

Symmetra, apart from having a clever name that references the character’s focus on symmetry, recently received some love from Blizzard via a standalone Symmetra story. The character’s motivations within the greater Overwatch universe are complex, but she stands as a champion for the Autistic community and greatly adds to Overwatch’s diverse cast of characters. While the short story focused on Symmetra’s spirituality, it also introduced a new skin that can be unlocked in-game.

The event runs from November 17 to November 30, giving players time to unlock the special outfit. Like other Overwatch skin challenges, the new Symmetra design is accompanied by a special spray and player icon, with more rewards obtainable by watching Overwatch League. Still, the star of the the event looks great in the skin, and players will no doubt want to secure 9 wins to grab the outfit.

The costume sees Symmetra don a yellow costime, with a unique head piece that differs from the one worn in her other outfits. Perhaps the coolest change sees Symmetra get a new hairstyle, with the hero rocking a braided look that has not been seen in any of her skins thus far. For now, players do not need to worry about changes being made to Symmetra’s gameplay as well, though murmurs of a Symmetra rework in Overwatch have come about. Regardless, the costume looks like one of the best outfit additions for the hero thus far.

The Symmetra skin and Restoration challenge comes alongside the announcement of priority passes for Overwatch, a unique system that incentivizes players to fill multiple roles. With the passes working as a reward to let players fill a damage role quicker, eliminating the extensive wait time that is usually required, fans who like to deal out punishment with Symmetra should rejoice when the feature arrives. After all, it gives them the chance to show off this neat new event skin.

With Overwatch 2 on the way, this could very well be the last skin Symmetra receives before the new game arrives. If this is the case, Blizzard has ended her Overwatch outfit collection with a bang, and fans of the character should start working on unlocking the Restoration skin right away.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
