Overwatch is a game that requires a mix of teamwork and skill to find success, meaning that some players perform better than others. However, one Overwatch fan wanted to figure out how good the in-game characters would be at playing the video game they star in, so they made a fun tier list ranking the cast.
This is not the first Overwatch tier list that the fan base has crafted. Alongside some more serious rankings that place the game’s maps, funny tier lists have been shared. These lighthearted rankings include a list centered around how characters would react if someone’s dog died, and another that looks at how much it would hurt to be killed by each character. The latest list falls into the silly category, and it is worth a look for those that are invested in the lore.
Reddit user and Overwatch fan Speedwagon1880 is responsible for the tier list. At the very bottom of the tier list, Torbjorn gets his own category, as the listmaker jokes that he “can’t reach the the computer.” The category above Torbjorn is for characters that have no interest in playing video games, and it includes older characters like Sigma and Ana as well as the dedicated Zenyatta. Wrecking Ball and Bastion are in the category “can’t play Overwatch” due to the limitations of their arms.
In E Tier, Orisa, Junkrat, and Reinhardt can be found. Junkrat’s focus on chaos and action would likely see the explosives expert failing to coordinate with his team. Reinhardt would likely charge right into fights on his own, a problem many players that control him have. In D tier, self-centered characters like Moira, Reaper, and Roadhog can be found, as well as Soldier 76. With Soldier 76 getting up there in age, he might not have the reflexes needed to keep up with younger players. C tier is made up of Hanzo, Brigitte, Tracer, and Mei.
B tier has Lucio and Cassidy, two characters deserving of their position. With the former great at teamwork, he could help his team strategize, and the latter has similar experience in the Deadlock Gang. A tier has Genji, a good fit due to the hero’s ability to recognize the best time to strike. As a pro gamer, D.Va is unsurprisingly in the equivalent of S tier. Funnily enough, though, Sombra and Widowmaker find themselves above D. Va. Their category is “gets banned,” which makes sense given the fact that Sombra is a hacker and Widowmaker’s accuracy would make it seem like she has an aimbot.
Speedwagon1880 has shown that tier lists can be a fun way to kill some time until Overwatch 2 releases. If anyone was wondering how good the heroes would be at playing the game they come from, this entertaining list has provided some answers.
