An Overwatch player has come up with skins for the shooter that crossover with a recent anime. Gamers love to come up with their own costumes in various titles, adding a bit more customization to their favorite characters. Overwatch skin mods have become common, especially in the fighting and shooter genres.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a recent anime that has released on Netflix. The series is a 10-episode story about a street kid who tries to survive in a futuristic city obsessed with technology and body modification. One gamer has combined the anime with Overwatch by coming up with skins for a few characters from the shooter.

A Redditor known as LaserBungalow shared three Overwatch skins inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The artist chose David Martinez as a costume for Soldier 76 and Rebecca as a skin for Tracer. Finally, LaserBungalow went with Lucy as a costume for Sombra. A crossover between Overwatch and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners would be a unique mix-up and could lead to some interesting skins and weapon ideas for the shooter.

A number of Redditors seem to be liking the idea that LaserBungalow has come up with. One commenter stated that they wish Blizzard would do this, while another did bring up the fact that the developer did say they are interested in doing crossover skins. A user mentioned that they do not think Overwatch's developer would crossover with an adult series like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, though it would be sick if they did, and that they would be happy with gun charms. There was also debate as to which characters from the anime would fit in the shooter, with gamers coming up with several picks.

LaserBungalow is not the only one coming up with Overwatch skins based off of other franchises. A Reddit user named JustburnburnBURN came up with a costume for Moira based on Lilith from Diablo. The skin mixes Moira's appearance with several elements from Lilith's design, including her huge horns, neck jewelry, and pale skin. The concept still sees a device on the back of the character, though it has been changed drastically to further fit the crossover. The piece on Moira's back now looks like a skull with souls taking the place of the tubes. The amount of detail that went into the idea is impressive, from the physical aspects to the clothing that the character is wearing. Both JustburnburnBURN and LaserBungalow came up with great ideas that would be nice additions to Overwatch.

Overwatch 2 will release in early access on October 4 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
