The annual Overwatch Winter Wonderland event is currently ongoing, giving fans of the hero-shooter the chance to collect a variety of holiday-themed cosmetics. There are plenty of great Winter Wonderland skins for Overwatch fans to add to their collection, but one fan has come up with an interesting new skin idea for Bastion that, while not holiday-themed, would be neat to see added to the game.

YouTube channel hey olly has uploaded a video of themselves making Bastion out of cucumbers. The title of the video is "2020 Overwatch First New Skin plz," and it's hard to deny that Cucumber Bastion would make a pretty interesting skin for the character. Whether or not Blizzard ever actually adds Cucumber Bastion to Overwatch is another matter entirely, but it's unlikely since it originated as a fan creation.

While Blizzard has come up with plenty of excellent skins for its Overwatch characters, there are some fan-made skins that have been especially impressive. One recent example of this is the Wrecking Ball Snow Globe skin, which, as its name implies, turns Hammond's ball into a see-through snow globe. The level of detail that would be required for such a skin means it's unlikely to ever come to the game, but it's still impressive nevertheless.

In the meantime, Bastion has enjoyed plenty of unique skin designs himself, so while Cucumber Bastion may never see the light of day, at least there's plenty of skins for fans to choose from. Bastion has even been featured in his own special limited-time event that let fans unlock a LEGO Bastion skin, and it's possible that there will be more special Bastion events at some point in the future.

Of course, there's also the upcoming Overwatch 2 launch for fans to keep in mind as well. Fans can expect Blizzard to keep running its annual events in the game, but eventually it will start moving most of its resources to the sequel. There will be a period of time where the original Overwatch and Overwatch 2 receive all of the same content, but at some point, the two games will become one. It will likely be years before that happens, and when it does, all of the existing Bastion skins should carry over.

Overwatch is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
