The Overwatch clips shared online primarily focus on hilarious moments or incredible play of the games. However, something sweet is shared every once in a while, with one Overwatch clip highlighting the bond between two healers.
In Overwatch, there is no quicker way for a match to fall apart than Support heroes being killed – especially main Supports like Ana. As such, it is important for a team to keep their healers alive, a duty that usually falls to the Tanks and Damage heroes. However, other Support characters can do this as well, and one Brigitte player recently went out of their way to protect an Ana user for the entirety of their match. The result is a truly heartwarming bit of footage that should put a smile on the face of any Overwatch fan.
The clip was shared by Reddit user and Overwatch player MayerRe-I, and it sees them calling their teammate “precious” for their efforts. Throughout the footage, the Brigitte user can be seen walking in front of Ana and keeping “her little shield” held up - blocking incoming fire so that the Ana could heal her team and fire shots at the enemies near the payload. With Ana’s self-defense options limited to her sleep dart, a high-skill item that requires accuracy and can only be used once every several seconds, anyone that plays as her would likely appreciate this kind of treatment.
Throughout the clip, the Brigitte player can be seen doing her job particularly well, with one example of this seen when she takes out a flanking Doomfist. While the Ana player normally would have been easy prey for the Doomfist user, that was not the case in this match, as the friendly Brigitte was prepared for the attack and quickly focused on the gauntlet-wielding Damage hero. Once dead, the Brigitte player pushed forward to heal her team a bit before retreating to place her small shield in front of Ana once again.
While the enemy Doomfist goes for the Ana a second time later in the clip, Brigitte shuts them down, showing how great they are at protecting the main healer. While the fighting on Eichenwalde continued after the 45-second clip, the footage perfectly captures what MayerRe-I was seeing throughout their game. Thus far, the post has received over 8,700 upvotes, with many praising the Brigitte user - especially when it comes to stopping the aggressive Doomfist. Many would likely want a teammate like this in their matches, and while the Brigitte player may have gotten in the Ana user’s way on occasion, the protection was a great gesture.
With an Overwatch 2 beta supposedly imminent, healers could soon have the chance to work together on some new maps. With how lovely this clip is, though, it will be difficult to top.
