With Overwatch having several seasonal events, and being available to play for over six years, it is no surprise that dozens of interesting cosmetics have appeared over that time. Though D.Va’s mech ensures that she gets plenty of cool looks, and Genji being a cyborg ninja guarantees awesome costumes, these are not the only two characters to get stellar alternate outfits over the years.

As many fans will surely know given the controversy surrounding the decision, Overwatch will be retired in just a few weeks’ time. The servers will be shut down shortly before October 4, with the launch of Overwatch 2 marking a bold new era for the hero shooter. With skins carrying over to the sequel, though, it makes sense that players would want to gather as many standout outfits as possible before the next game arrives. Fortunately, the ongoing credits event provides a final opportunity to get any of the event skins that have been added to Overwatch over the years. While there are hundreds of designs to pick from, a few in particular could be worth spending hard-earned credits on.

Face Changer Sombra

Overwatch Sombra

While plenty has been said about Genji’s Overwatch 2 Mythic skin and how it is customizable, essentially making it multiple skins in one, Blizzard has released a similar outfit in the past. Though Face Changer Sombra can not be customized, and the faces change randomly throughout the match, seeing her masks swap is a lot of fun for her teammates and makes it feel like the skin offers more than the usual cosmetic. Though Overwatch being an FPS means players do not see these changing faces, a special marker on Sombra’s weapon notifies Face Changer users of which face is currently equipped.

Witch (or Mage) Mercy

Though Mercy’s enduring popularity as an accessible Support hero has resulted in many memorable skins for her, like Winged Victory and Dragoon, fans would be hard-pressed to think of an outfit more sought-after than her Witch skin. With unique voice lines, a broom replacing her Caduceus Staff, and a flashy hat, this Halloween costume is a must-have for fans looking to give the angelic healer a darker makeover. However, for those who prefer white and blue to brown and orange, the Mage recolor could be worth picking up.

Draugr Reinhardt

One of Overwatch’s most recent Halloween Terror skins is arguably one of the best in the game, as Reinhardt’s Draugr form is spectacular. The undead version of the German giant is very intimidating, from his massive weapon to the arrows in his shield. The glowing blue eyes and exposed teeth make this skin scarier than Overwatch’s usual designs, and getting pinned by this version of Reinhardt could be a nightmare for unlucky players.

Jazzy Lucio

Jazzy Lucio is comparable to Face Changer Sombra in the sense that it has a unique gimmick, as players looking to grab it during Overwatch’s Credits Last Chance event will find that it offers a whole new set of music to enjoy. Given how the entirety of Lucio’s kit is centered around music, swapping out the sounds of his speed and healing boosts is entertaining. For those that enjoy Lucio and play him often, having the option to change up his music could keep things feeling fresh.

Cultist (or Zealot) Zenyatta

Zenyatta, much like Genji, has a natural advantage when it comes to skin designs. Because the concept of the character is so unique, and the default character model is distinct, Blizzard can try a lot of things when it comes to his cosmetics. Though Toybot and Nutcracker are cool outfits for when the holidays come around, the Lovecraft-inspired Cultist skin can be used all year long. The tentacles on Zenyatta’s face and the eyes on his orbs provide a spooky vibe, and the added voice lines are a nice bonus. Players can also swap purple for white thanks to the Zealot recolor.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
