Support players rejoice. Overwatch is adding another healer to the roster. Baptiste, the combat medic, is coming to the game soon. To prepare players, Blizzard released an origin trailer that provides some background on the newcomer.

Like so many others in the Overwatch universe, the Omnic Crisis hit Baptiste pretty hard. As a desperate kid with few options and a passion to make a difference, he fell in with the wrong crowd: Talon. In the organization, he learned how to heal his fellow soldiers, as well as how to handle a gun. Now he's out, and ready to do some good.

Folks with their ear to the ground knew Baptiste was coming sooner or later after Blizzard hinted at the hero a few days ago. The Overwatch official site released a mission log from a Talon recovery team who were chasing Baptiste after he abandoned the organization. It did not go well for them. Turns out, hero 30 will deliver heals and punishment in equal measure.

From what is shown of the new Overwatch character, Baptiste looks to be equipped with a weapon similar to a Tommy Gun. If it's anything like the infamous weapon, it has the potential to output some serious heals. As for the rest of his kit or his Ultimate, it's anyone's guess at this point. Blizzard is simply teasing the hero for now. But new heroes have been getting added a short time after their teases, so expect him to join the PTR in the very near future.

Baptiste will be the 30th hero added to Overwatch, which is quite an achievement for the game. The last hero added was Ashe, who was introduced at last year's BlizzCon. This old flame of McCree's is a mid to long range DPS character who wields an automatic rifle and can call on the services of her robot butler B.O.B.

Overwatch is available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
