Blizzard's team-based multiplayer first-person shooter made a big impact on the gaming community when it was first launched in 2016, and since then, Overwatch's fanbase has continued to grow. To celebrate six years since the game's release, Blizzard has launched the Anniversary Remix Vol. 1. The event started on April 5 and is running all the way until April 26. The nostalgia-filled event will have a bunch of content for fans to enjoy, letting them relive some of the best of the bunch when it comes to previous skins, weekly challenges, and brawls. This is the perfect time for Overwatch fans to celebrate what they love about the game, especially with Overwatch 2 on the horizon.

While Blizzard usually gives players some kind of anniversary event in early April, 2022's version will mix things up a bit and provide some old fan favorites instead of brand-new content. While some players may have been looking forward to a fresher selection of content, there are plenty who will no doubt enjoy the chance to dive into some tried and tested features as well. Whether players are new to the party or simply missed out on the goods the first time around, Overwatch Anniversary Remix: Vol 1 is now live and ready to be enjoyed.

A Whole Host Of Returning Skins and More

Included across the three weeks of the Anniversary Remix Vol. 1 will be special looks for some of the extensive Overwatch roster, with exclusive new variants of Legendaries like Nevermore Reaper, Witch Mercy, Steelhardt Reinhardt, Zealot Zenyatta, and Oni Genji to shake up the old favorites. In addition to some new versions of what players have seen before, Blizzard will be "unlocking the skin vault" to give fans access to a range of previous outfits and looks from over the years. With recolors and retakes on some of Overwatch's most popular skins, Blizzard will also be providing six new skins per remix event.

In addition to remixing some familiar skins, Overwatch is making a few other changes to classic content. Blizzard has stated that "events like Archives, standard Anniversary, and Summer Games will not make a return this year." Instead, a new set of variants will be introduced during the Remix event, which will all transfer across to Overwatch 2 when it's eventually released, "along with all previously earned skins, sprays, and player icons." As such, anything that players earn now will carry over into their Overwatch 2 experience.

Weekly Challenges And Bringing Back Brawls

In addition to skins, each week of the Anniversary Remix Vol. 1 will give players the chance to win new challenges and earn sprays, player icons, and additional skins like Combat Medic Baptiste, Nano D.Va, and Bastet Ana. Playing games in the Arcade, Competitive Play, or Quick Play will let players unlock these limited-time items, and winning will count as two games as well. Here's the full breakdown of what's available to earn each week (although regional times may vary).
