The practice range in Overwatch 2 has long allowed players to practice their skills against harmless bots, but a viral clip shared by one player captures a strange glitch causing one of the training bots to exhibit some hilarious albeit concerning behavior. The game's training room finally received a sizable upgrade in Overwatch 2's massive Invasion update, which adds a fully fleshed-out firing range, new bot types, and more features to help players sharpen their skills.

The practice range has remained virtually untouched throughout its existence in Overwatch 2, providing a useful feature that players have frequently made use of since even the earliest days of the original game. The range consists of a single small and fairly simple map containing several different areas, each one inhabited by a variety of training bots. Though most of these bots don't deal out any damage, and each one sports a rather generous head size and hitbox, they nonetheless provide ideal targets for players aiming to learn how to play as new Overwatch 2 heroes or to train their skills with existing ones.

Though these bots are purely non-player entities and are generally only repeat a certain action or move along a pre-determined path, they are capable of some simple interactions with players, and will attempt to move back to their original positions if displaced by players. Their typical simplicity only makes one popular clip on Reddit all the more strange, with this short video being captured and shared by the user fishwasherr. Though far from the strangest bug found in Overwatch 2, the footage features a funny yet slightly disturbing bug which involves one bot slowly traveling forwards from its supposedly fixed location, continually edging closer to the edge of a cliff before jumping over the barrier to its doom.

This would seem to be a perplexing glitch for sure, one which has surprisingly been encountered by other players in separate instances, too. Though there seem to be few other fans who have seen this seemingly self-destructive bot for themselves, the small handful of similar existing clips have only been around since Overwatch 2's recent Invasion update, leading some players to suspect that this bug is somehow a result of the changes made to the practice range.

The game's Invasion update marks what is undoubtedly the largest content drop for the sequel yet, bringing a whole new mode to Overwatch 2's PvP known as Flashpoint, the new hero Illari, the first few missions for the game's PvE content, and much more. The update also adds a new Hero Mastery mode, a firing range extension to the practice range, as well as a general overhaul to the training area with the addition of new training bot types, Ultimate-recharging canisters, and more.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
