The new Symmetra event in Overwatch 2 seems to be hinting at a new Torbjorn skin for Season 5. Cosmetics in Overwatch 2 play a pivotal role in keeping players engaged, and generating a stready stream of revenue for the free-to-play title. Formerly obtained through lootboxes in the original Overwatch, a vast majority of skins are now directly purchasable through the in-game menu at varying prices, while some exist as earnable rewards through the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass.

Though Blizzard has recently come under fire after its controversial announcement that the PvE Mode for Overwatch 2 was canceled, the game's cosmetics and PvP Mode have enjoyed the full attention of the development team since launch, and will continue to do so going forward. The Seeds of Order event, lasting from May 23 to May 29, allows players to earn the Symmetra Gardener skin by playing a total of 24 games. Other rewards include new voice lines for Symmetra as well as a rather suspiciously shaped garden gnome.

The Garden Gnome Souvenir reward is earned by completing 16 games during the event, and players couldn't help but notice its uncanny resemblance to another Overwatch 2 hero – Torbjorn. According to ImNotSuspicious1, the stocky engineer of Swedish nationality appears to be a perfect match to the garden gnome from Symmetra's Seeds of Order event. The greater implication of this discovery is that it effectively confirms that Season 5 will have a fantasy theme, something many assumed due to the roadmap teasers for Mischief & Magic and Questwatch.

Another key feature of Overwatch 2 Season 5 is the return of On Fire, a beloved part of Overwatch's gameplay that allowed players to fill up a bar during a match by playing well, earning them an enflamed portrait that the enemy team could see. Though appeasing the disgruntled community of Overwatch 2 seems to be an especially difficult endeavor in the wake of recent controversies, it's clear that the developers themselves care about the direction of the game – even if the powers-that-be impose a more profit-oriented approach by canning the campaign.

With Overwatch 2 Season 5 launching on June 13, players won't have to wait long to see what Blizzard has in store for the game. In addition to cosmetics that will likely be fantasy-themed, Season 5 will also feature a new yet-to-be-revealed map as well as a limited Questwatch event. Though a cinematic reveal is also slated for the upcoming season and its many exciting features, it remains to be seen if it will be enough to mend the current rift in Overwatch 2's community.

Overwatch 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
