An apparent Overwatch 2 leak has potentially revealed some details about what fans can expect from Season 7. Overwatch 2 Season 6 has proven to be one of the most substantial seasons for the hero shooter so far. It saw the introduction of the PvE story missions, the debut of new Support hero Illari, and the addition of the Flashpoint game mode. Overwatch players have been battling it out in Season 6 since August, but it will soon be coming to an end.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 is expected to end in October, at which point it will be replaced by Season 7. Blizzard has yet to fully pull the curtain back on what Overwatch 2 Season 7 will entail, but it's hinted at hero balance changes, including reworks for Roadhog and Sombra. Fans will have to wait for Overwatch 2 Season 7 to be officially announced before they know for sure what's on the way, but a leak may have revealed Blizzard's plans ahead of time.

Overwatch 2 Season 7 leaks have been making the rounds online that seems to confirm a new Control map for the game called Tupua. Tupua will apparently be a Samoan map, which has led fans to believe that long-rumored Tank hero Mauga could finally be getting added to the game, though he is not actually mentioned anywhere in the leak. The leaked images also show Mythic Onryo Hanzo, Ghost Bride Widowmaker, and Victorian Doll Echo skins, all of which would fit in perfectly with the upcoming Halloween season. The leaked images also point to a Diablo 4 crossover event featuring Lilith in some capacity, but there aren't many details available beyond that. Of course, Overwatch 2 fans should take this leak with a grain of salt and wait until Blizzard makes its official announcement.

While it's possible the leaks are fake, none of this is too outlandish for Overwatch 2 Season 7. Since Season 7 will coincide with the annual Halloween Terror event, it makes sense that the new season will feature skins like the ones that have been leaked. As far as the Samoa-based Tupua map and the potential for Mauga to be the new Tank hero, Mauga has been rumored for Overwatch 2 ever since he was first introduced in the Baptiste short story, and so it's easy to believe Blizzard is finally ramping up plans to add him to the game proper. However, it should be stressed that Mauga was nowhere to be seen in the leaked images and just because a Samoan map is potentially coming to the game, it doesn't mean he will be.

With Overwatch 2 Season 6 nearly at an end, official details about what Season 7 will entail should be right around the corner. Hopefully Overwatch 2 fans don't have to wait long to learn if there's any legitimacy to these leaks or not.

Overwatch 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
