Blizzard has released a new trailer for Overwatch 2 Season 5 that confirms some of the new game modes coming to the game in the new season. Overwatch 2 Season 5 will kick off on Tuesday, June 13, bringing with it a brand-new Battle Pass for fans of the hero shooter to complete.The Overwatch 2 Season 5 Battle Pass has already been teased by Blizzard, with the company pulling the curtain back on some of the skins players will be able to unlock this time around. The headlining new skin in the Overwatch 2 Season 2 Battle Pass is a new Mythic Tracer skin that evolves as players progress through the Battle Pass tiers. The new Tracer skin has a fantasy theme that will be felt throughout the entirety of Overwatch 2 Season 5.RELATED: Overwatch 2 Teases New Support Hero and Confirms When Story Missions Are ComingOverwatch 2 Season 5 Battle Pass progression is presented through the lens of the game's characters playing a Dungeons & Dragons-style tabletop RPG. There will be challenges to complete tied to this theme, including some that tasks players with participating in the limited-time Defeat the Demon Lord game mode. In this 1v4 mode, a team of four works together to defeat a super powered Reinhardt.

Other game modes players can look forward to in Overwatch 2 Season 5 include the return of Lucioball for the annual Summer Games event as well as the new Winston Volleyball mode. While Overwatch 2 Season 5 starts on June 13, the Summer Games won't kick off until July 11, so there is some time before fans of Blizzard's hero shooter will be able to check out the Summer Games.

Another new game mode coming to Overwatch 2 in Season 5 is called Mischief and Magic. This mode is basically the Overwatch 2 version of Prop Hunt, a popular FPS mode where one team takes the form of various objects and another team has to find them. Overwatch 2's take on the Prop Hunt game mode will be available beginning July 25, and like the Summer Games content, it will only be in the hero shooter for a limited time.

As far as the Overwatch 2 Competitive Scene goes, Blizzard is bringing back Competitive Mystery Heroes in Season 5. It is also introducing the new Team Queue, which allows five stacks of Overwatch 2 players to queue up for Comp regardless of their skill ratings.

Season 5 will be capped off by the debut of a new animated short starring Damage hero Sojourn, debuting in the game on August 4. This will be one of the last big updates for Overwatch 2 before the Invasion update drops on August 10, which will be the biggest update for the game since its early access launch.

Overwatch 2 is available in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
