With Overwatch 2 Season 2 being over, players are starting to dig their teeth into Season 3. Although this season's new battle pass does not bring a hero to the roster, Activision-Blizzard has not skimped on content and features designed to spice up the start of the new season - notably including plenty of themed skins.

The new Antarctic Control map and a Valentine's Day-themed Overwatch dating simulator have been introduced alongside a new battle pass to progress through, and a general rebalance of the game's economy. All this comes alongside the new season introducing Overwatch 2's first crossover with the One Punch Man manga and anime series. However, One Punch Man provides just some of the new skins confirmed for Season 3 thus far.

Overwatch 2's previous season had skins with a strong emphasis on Greco-Roman mythology, but Season 3 focuses more on Asian myths led by the premium Amaterasu Mythic skin for support hero Kiriko. Themed appearances for Moira, Reaper, and Junkrat will also be unlockable through the battle pass, and skins for D.Va, Zenyatta, Genji, Mei and Ashe will be available through the in-game store.

As the star of the new season, Amaterasu Kiriko represents the goddess of the Sun in Japan; her equivalent in Western culture could be Hellios (or Apollo in the Roman version), though there are major differences in how these cultures view divinity. Those who are able to unlock this look get additional customization elements to mix and match, and Kiriko's fox spirit will have a new look when using the skin.

The Overwatch 2, One Punch Man Collaboration

Overwatch 2 One Punch Man

Undoubtedly the biggest surprise of this season has been the announcement of a collaboration between One Punch Man and Overwatch, bringing in a skin based on Saitama for Doomfist. This announcement reveals the company's interest in exploring crossovers similar to those in Fortnite. Previously, Overwatch has collaborated with other Blizzard games to create special skins such as Widowmaker's Kerrigan, but this is the first time a skin from another company is coming to Overwatch 2.

The One Punch Man skin is currently unavailable. However, Blizzard has already announced that it will soon reveal more details about how to get this - and other looks centered on the popular series - so players can add them to their collection.

Overwatch 2 is available now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
