First of all, Overwatch 2's Season 11 is set to go live on June 20, 2024, with the approximate time of this new seasonal update taking place at 11 AM PDT / 2 PM EDT, based on previous seasons. As with every other season of the game, Season 11 features a brand new Battle Pass full of themed rewards, and this time around the theme is 'Super Mega Ultrawatch' - an Overwatch take on the Tokusatsu/Sentai genre, which is why the characters have a Power Rangers sort of aesthetic to their seasonal cosmetics.

With the arrival of Season 11 - Super Mega Ultrawatch, there is plenty for players to look forward to, including new cosmetics, in-game events, free-to-earn rewards, new map additions and reworks, and even some brand-new features. While there's much to admire, the main pointers have been identified below to help give players a head start in terms of what to look forward to or work towards unlocking first.

New Mythic Skin - Calamity Empress Ashe

If there's one thing players jump to find out upon the reveal of a new seasonal theme, it's which Overwatch character will be receiving that season's Mythic Skin. This time around, DPS Hero and the well-known leader of the Deadlock Gang, Ashe, receive the cosmetic, with multiple parts that can be unlocked and customized with the use of Mythic Prisms that you purchase or earn throughout the season.

New Seasonal Cosmetics

In addition to the brilliant Ashe Mythic, plenty of other Heroes are receiving new cosmetics through Battle Pass Tier rewards or the Overwatch 2 Shop at some point during Season 11. In the image above, Genji, Reaper, Widowmaker, Hammond, Roadhog, Sojourn, and Zenyatta, all dressed up in Tokusatsu themed cosmetics. And then, because most Overwatch 2 seasons also feature a strange sub-theme of some kind within the Shop and Battle Pass, there's also a Mauga cosmetic that appears to reference his comic design, and fit the secondary Summer Games theme.

Following this, more Tokusatsu-themed cosmetics have been displayed for Cassidy, Soldier: 76, Ana, and Zarya. Mei and Echo, on the other hand appear to have quite a summery aesthetic going on with some bright fruit-themed cosmetics, and Hanzo is dressed up in what appears to be an alternate of his Casual skin.

Lastly, many more Heroes are receiving Lifeguard-themed skins to join Mercy, Pharah, and Cassidy. In the image featured above, players can gain sneak peak of upcoming Junkrat, Kiriko, LIfeweaver, Roadhog and Lucio summer-themed lifeguard skins that will be available for purchase in the Overwatch Shop.

Mythic Weapon Skins

First, weapon skins became a thing. Now, much like Mythic Hero Skins, players will also be able to work towards Mythic Weapon skins with the use of their Mythic Prisms. Not only do these Mythic Weapons have some eye-catching designs, but they also tend to feature unique sound effects and animations for their Hero.

Pink Mercy Returns + Rose Gold Mercy

That's right. During Season 11, players will have a second chance to claim the beloved Pink Mercy skin, which helped to raise over 12 million USD for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in 2018. In addition to this fan-favorite, a new alternate variant titled Rose Gold will also be available to purchase in a bundle with a few more extra player profile customization items. The Pink Mercy and Rose Gold Mercy skins will become available to buy from June 25, 2024, and 100% of profits from both of these cosmetics will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

A brand new Push map titled Runasapi will be added at the beginning of Season 11, with the map located in Peru, and possibly giving more insight into Peruvian Support Hero, Illari, and her background. In addition to this brand new map, Overwatch 2 devs have also been hard at work reworking the Colloseo Push map, which has now had the pesky windows removed, the cliff of the second point edited, and more cover added to the third point.

More Hero Mastery & General Tweaks/Reworks

kiriko hero mastery

At the beginning of Season 11, additional Hero Mastery courses will be released for both Kiriko and Soldier: 76, enabling players to perfect their mechanics with these Heroes. In addition to this, many other tweaks, reworks, and new additions are to be expected for both the game in terms of general mechanics and bugs, as well as multiple Heroes. Cassidy, in particular, has been revealed to be getting a rework of his Magnetic Grenade to behave more similarly to his old Flashbang, and he is just one of many Heroes who will receive these changes. Until official patch notes drop and the new season goes live, players will just have to eagerly await to find out this information.
