Blizzard has confirmed its plans to rework Overwatch 2's Roadhog in a new roadmap, but unfortunately, players will have to wait much longer than they may want for the controversial tank hero to be balanced again. Having received several nerfs before Season 5, Roadhog has fallen from grace for many players. The masked killer can't utilize his powerful combination of Chain Hook and Scrap Gun to one-shot enemies any longer, which caused his popularity to decline in recent months.Although Blizzard has revealed its intention to bring Roadhog a soft rework before, it has never officially confirmed a timetable. Players have found Roadhog way overpowered due to his ability to one-shot enemies to have the upper hand during combat. Blizzard stepped in to address player frustrations, bringing an update to reduce the impact damage of Roadhog's hook and increase the reload time for his Scrap Gun. Many players in the Overwatch 2 forums claimed they stopped utilizing Roadhog in their ranked matches ever since his nerfs.RELATED: Overwatch 2 Fan Creates Working Armor Based on Reinhardt’s MentorAccording to the Overwatch 2 roadmap posted on Twitter, a rework of Roadhog won't be coming for at least five months. Players will have to wait until Season 7 when the planned rework will release alongside hero mastery missions and a new control map. The last time Roadhog received an update to his ability kit was back in February 2023, when the time of his Whole Hog ultimate was extended from six to eight. Players complained about Roadhog being too unbalanced even after balance changes, which Blizzard hopes to address with a soft rework later this year.

Roadhog can be considered a bruiser, whose Chain Hook ability can be used to pull off enemies from a distance. He stood out among other tank heroes thanks to his incredible damage output. Although Roadhog doesn't have the best defensive abilities in the way of blocking damage, he can still stand in front of his team to distract enemies. His Chain Hook cooldown is one of the most crucial elements in his gameplay.

Overwatch 2'stank hero Roadhog also has interesting lore, which revolves around his complex relationship with Junkrat and The Junker Queen. Having built a reputation for wanton destruction, Roadhog inflicted pain on his enemies to find his own inner peace. His cruelty proves he can't be trusted by anyone.

Roadhog being unbalanced for a long time does not necessarily mean that Blizzard will change his tuning too much. Players will find out how big of an impact the upcoming rework will have on his pick rate in Season 7 of Overwatch 2, which is expected to release sometime in October 2023.

Overwatch 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
