Blizzard has finally launched the anticipated sequel to its popular competitive first-person Hero shooter, Overwatch 2. The 5v5 free-to-play title's servers have only been live for 20 minutes as of the time of writing, and it seems that Blizzard is having several issues affecting thousands of hopeful players trying to jump in for the first time or to check out what's changed from Overwatch 1.

Known Overwatch 2 Launch Issues

For gamers out there trying to play Overwatch 2 right now who are having trouble logging in, know that Blizzard has come out and stated that there are indeed several issues popping up. According to the official Overwatch 2 bug report on Blizzard's forums, some players who merged their PC and console accounts might get an "Unexpected Server Error." Also, some players that tried to transfer over their cosmetic items from the previous game might run into an issue where the items aren't showing up in their Overwatch 2 collection. And, of course, many players are facing general server disconnects and insanely long waiting times in a queue.

How to Fix Overwatch 2 Issues

Unfortunately, many players can't just jump into Overwatch 2 all willy-nilly, but this is what often happens with new game launches, especially a series with a name as big as Overwatch. The only thing that players can do to bypass the server disconnects and queue times is to just wait until the servers aren't as congested. When you have thousands of people trying to log into a new game at the same time, issues are sure to pop up.

Of course, if players are having a really bad issue with internet connectivity, restarting their router or their console's connection might be a good idea.

Also, while Blizzard keeps fixing Overwatch 2's launch issues, players should keep an eye out on the developer's Customer Support Twitter page. The team will post updates on the current status of Overwatch 2's servers.

Overwatch 2 is currently in Early Access and free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
