  • Overwatch 2 players demand Pharah nerfs due to her dominance in the game.
  • Pharah's aerial mobility and powerful Rocket Launcher make her a challenging opponent.
  • Recent changes in Overwatch 2 have increased Pharah's viability and effectiveness.

Some Overwatch 2 players are asking for nerfs for Pharah, as the character has become a dominant name in the hero shooter. Pharah is one of the characters who are part of the original Overwatch roster, and now in Overwatch 2, she has been the cause of many players' headaches.

Pharah is a DPS character with remarkable aerial mobility and a powerful Rocket Launcher that dishes out great damage. Although she's not a standout on the ground, when Overwatch 2 player plays with Pharah, it's possible to use her vertical mobility to their advantage, waiting for the moment to catch the enemy off guard or interrupt their plays. In addition, by being able to fly, Pharah can use unusual spots on Overwatch 2 maps to surprise her opponents. And Overwatch 2 players believe it's time Blizzard put the brakes on the hero's firepower.

Overwatch 2 Teases Potential Mauga Rework

Less than a year after Mauga joined the Overwatch 2 roster, Blizzard's hero shooter teases a potential rework of the tank's abilities.

Overwatch 2 caster Jack Wright is one of the players calling for nerfs to Pharah, as the character has been dominating the game's meta. Wright notes that "flyers being strong must be one of the most frustrating things to deal with" in the current state of Overwatch 2, a sentiment echoed by others. Twitter user and Twitch streamer Landon_OW shared the same feelings and called for nerfs to Pharah, expressing his frustration at dealing with the character. On Reddit, user ThunderBR2 says that, at the moment, "Pharah is not healthy" for Overwatch 2, revealing they had 37 wins out of 40 matches playing the hero, noting that "it's very frustrating for those who play against her."

Why Has Pharah Risen in the Overwatch 2 Meta?

Since Overwatch 2 revamped Pharah, the DPS hero's viability has gradually increased. Pharah is no longer dependent on Mercy, breaking the famous "Phamercy" combo, and players have learned to explore the potential of her mobility tools. As a result, Pharah players have found it easier to confirm kills using the Rocket Launcher's faster projectiles and larger health pool, allowing for a more aggressive playstyle. According to Overbuff, Pharah has the third-highest win rate among DPS heroes, with an impressive 52.13%.

Although Pharah doesn't get specific adjustments very often, she has benefited greatly from changes beyond the rework done in Overwatch 2's ninth season. Previously, Overwatch 2 increased the size of projectiles, making it easier to land shots, increasing health, and reducing the cost of ultimates for all heroes. With Season 11 having started just a few days ago, players hope that Blizzard will, at some point, finally address Pharah's dominance in Overwatch 2.
