Overwatch 2 players put their heads together to find an increased penalty for leaving competitive games, suggesting that leavers should have their own queue, where they are matched with other like-minded leavers. Although Blizzard instituted harsher penalties for those who quit competitive games in Overwatch 2, some players think the developers have not done a good job of providing a healthier gaming experience. Now, they have a suggestion for Blizzard to prevent these leavers from ruining their games.

Due to the cancelation of Overwatch 2's PvE campaign mode, Blizzard drew criticism from many players, with some even calling on others to boycott the game as a result of this decision. Executive producer for Overwatch 2, Jared Neuss, had to respond to widespread complaints regarding the scrapped PvE features, saying that the hero-shooter game will still receive story missions and co-op events. It looks like players are up in arms again, this time about leavers plaguing their competitive games.

The Overwatch 2 community agreed that leavers should have their own queue where they are matched against each other. A Reddit user who goes by Miltaire first provided this suggestion, which many players in the comments think is something Blizzard can utilize to reduce the number of leavers. If the developers match them together, they stop ruining respectable players' competitive games. This idea actually resembles Dota 2's punishment plan, which places toxic players who abandon games more than once in the low-priority queue.

In the comments, many players have praised this idea for the potential benefits it could bring to Overwatch 2's competitive system, with some claiming that the penalty for leaving games should be way harsher. Some players also pointed out that no one cares if leavers destroy an unranked game. It's no secret that Overwatch 2 has a problem with individuals quitting games frequently, with players hoping that Blizzard will address this as soon as possible.

Overwatch 2 players previously suggested a new feature for the game's Auto Queue system, which allows players to cancel the auto matchmaking at the end of a game. They said the developers should add an icon to the HUD that lets them know when their support teammates are killed. Another suggestion provided by the Overwatch 2 community also urged Blizzard to add the ability for support players to see their teammates' health bars in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Unfortunately, leavers are not the only problem Overwatch 2 players have encountered in their competitive games. Some angry players are going far as to throw their games intentionally to protest the cancelation of Blizzard's PvE plans. The developers have not yet taken a measure to prevent this toxicity.

Overwatch 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
