Overwatch 2 just revealed its 37th character, a support hero named Lifeweaver. Players can expect to learn more about this dashing hero when Overwatch 2 shares more information about Season 4 on April 4.

Season 3 of Overwatch 2 is about to come to an end, meaning Blizzard’s free-to-play FPS will soon get a refresh of its Battle Pass. Overwatch 2 seeks to release a new hero every other Battle Pass season, meaning players expected new ones in Season 4 and Season 6, both of which have been confirmed to be support characters.

Lifeweaver is the new hero coming to Overwatch 2 in this upcoming season. The striking support hero is quite attractive, and has a strong theme around cherry blossoms, as indicated by the flower conjured in his mechanical arm and the adornment on his back. Lifeweaver appears to be the fourth male support hero in Overwatch 2 if one includes the male-presenting Omnic monk Zenyatta. One look at this new character proves Overwatch 2 was not joking when it said there were two cute support heroes coming to the game soon, though few were expecting him to be so handsome.

Little is known about Lifeweaver yet, but his reveal screenshot holds a few hints. Cherry blossoms are often associated with Japan, but they are also indigenous to the regions around the Himalayas. The architecture in the background evokes temples from Thailand – one of the nations that borders the Himalayan mountains – and his appearance and outfit certainly match the theme. Considering its relative proximity to India, players may also see an interesting connection with Symmetra in Overwatch 2, especially considering the visual similarities between her hard light technology and his holographic cherry blossom.

It is clear Overwatch 2 fans are hyped up about Lifeweaver. The reveal post on the official Overwatch 2 Twitter received over 15,000 retweets and 35,000 likes in less than an hour. Though players have only seen a single picture of the hero, many have been immediately charmed by his gentle demeanor and stylish design. Even without any information about the hero, many players are hoping to make Lifeweaver their new main.

Like Kiriko and Ramattra before him, players can expect Lifeweaver to be unlocked via the Battle Pass for Overwatch 2 Season 4. If Overwatch 2 follows precedent, fans will likely unlock the new support character at Battle Pass tier 45. If players don’t earn this new hero during the two months of Season 4, they will be able to earn him via Hero Challenges like previous additions to the game.

Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
