Overwatch 2's Lifeweaver hero is able to pull their teammates to their deaths. By leaving their team spirit aside, gamers can terrorize their friends by using Lifeweaver’s new abilities in unexpected ways.

This week, Blizzard released a new character for the Overwatch 2 PTR, Lifeweaver. The new hero focuses on healing and defense. Lifeweaver comes from Thailand, and he is the first pansexual character in Overwatch 2, showcasing Blizzard’s desire to keep showcasing a diverse roster of characters from all backgrounds in its games. He will join the main roster of heroes on April 11 alongside the launch of Season 4.

Now, however, a few gamers are using this Overwatch 2 support character in unintended ways. In a video shared by Overwatch_two on TikTok, it’s possible to see a player using the Life Grip ability to pull teammates into the abyss, killing them in the process. The clip, called “Lifeweaver Killing His Teammates For A Minute Straight” shows the several different ways and angles that someone could troll their party members by essentially wrecking their games with this ability.

Lifeweaver’s Life Grip ability was originally designed as a way to shield other players. It gives the gamer the power to both instantaneously shield an ally and at the same time pull them back from the action. If a teammate is surrounded by enemies, for instance, this could easily save their skin. In the right Overwatch 2 party composition, this could be a very useful trick that could change the tide of a match. However, when used for friendly fire, it’s also a concerning game design problem. It's expected that Blizzard will patch this out soon, eliminating the chance of players using Lifeweaver for evil.

This is far from the first time that an Overwatch ability has been problematic. For instance, Cassidy’s magnetic grenade has been an issue lately. The ability was overhauled for Overwatch 2, as players constantly complained that the hero’s flashbang grenade was overpowered before. Unfortunately, when trying to solve the issue, Blizzard arguably made it worse. Now, the magnetic grenade is simply too good at tracking enemies, even getting players hidden behind walls sometimes. It's also accused of doing too much damage, killing heroes with 200 health points easily when combined with a single body shot from Cassidy’s revolver.

Overwatch 2 is now available in early access on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
