The lead game director of Overwatch 2, Aaron Keller, has announced that fans can expect to see a few changes to heroes including Doomfist, Tracer, Sojourn, Roadhog, and even the recently-added Ramattra with the planned balance patch coming to the game later this week. While the details regarding these changes are slim, they come as a follow-up to the previous balance patch that came with Overwatch 2 Season 2, which brought long-awaited nerfs to Sojourn. It's safe to say that Overwatch 2 and its predecessor have been infamous for their seemingly-never ending stream of balance patches, with constant tweaks to heroes' abilities leading to the game's meta to be in an almost constant state of flux. Perhaps the most interesting part of the developer's announcement is that the team intends to bring tweaks to Ramattra already. Ramattra is the latest hero who was added to Overwatch 2 only at the start of December with the launch of the game's second season. The Omnic tank hero was surrounded by tons of anticipation from fans following his earlier reveal at the Overwatch League Grand Finals event, especially after he was announced to be Overwatch 2's first tempo tank, capable of switching between a tactical Omnic form and a terrifying Nemesis form to gain the upper hand in battles.RELATED: Overwatch 2 Player Points Out Small Flaw with New Shambali Monastery MapThe announcement of these potential upcoming changes came in a tweet from Aaron Keller's official Twitter account. The tweet itself came in response to a thread from Overwatch Commercial Leader Jon Spector, which provided some extra details on Blizzard's plans for updates in the near future. While the nature of these changes hasn't been specified and has only been labeled by Keller as nothing more than "potential changes," it would seem that the developers intend to be careful with their response to player feedback throughout Season 2 so far. Though there have been mixed reactions to Ramattra from the community so far, it's uncertain how Blizzard might intend to tweak the character's capabilities this early on.

Although Sojourn was infamous for being a hero desperately in need of nerfs since her introduction to Overwatch 2 when it released in October, many players feel that the tweaks recently made to her railgun's effectiveness failed to provide a reasonable solution of balancing her with other characters in the roster. Some fans speculate that upcoming changes could revert some of the tweaks that were previously introduced in favor of a different approach to balancing her.

With Roadhog changes on the table too, many fans are anxious to see how the tank meta might change in the coming weeks. On top of the changes hinted at by Blizzard, some players continue to urge the developers to revert the nerfs to characters such as Genji.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
