The first beta for Overwatch 2 is just days away, and to build anticipation, content creators are releasing some alpha footage of the game. Thus far, fans have gotten a good look at the big changes in action, though Sombra fans also got to see a small but fun addition being made in Overwatch 2.

Prior to this discovery, Sombra fans already had plenty of reasons to look forward to the sequel. For starters, Sombra’s Overwatch 2 rework can be seen as a massive buff, with the hero now able to hack and deal damage more efficiently thanks to the changes made to her kit. Sombra’s new look has also been very well received, with the Overwatch community much more positive on her redesign than they are on some of the more divisive makeovers. For those that love Sombra for her personality, though, a new voice line should prove even more exciting.

Sombra is known for having a cocky attitude and toying with both her allies and enemies. Her relationship with Reaper is the best example of this, with both her animated short and Reaper’s Code of Violence story highlighting the dynamic. Overwatch 2’s new voice line for Sombra fits right in with what fans have seen of the character over the years, and it should get a laugh out of those listening to it for the first time. As shown in a clip from Reddit user FitzyHere, the new voice line is triggered after an enemy Pharah is killed by Sombra.

The clip sees Pharah hacked on Watchpoint Gibraltar, with the Rocket Queen plummeting off the map since she has lost her ability to fly. As she usually does when falling, Pharah lets out a scream, something that Sombra decides to parody. The hilarious voice line sees Sombra letting out a yell with little effort before making an explosion sound, poking fun at Pharah’s death. Unsurprisingly, fans loved this voice line, with the post getting over 8,000 upvotes thus far.

In the comments, many Redditors compared it to other voice lines where the game’s heroes make fun of each other, like Tracer occasionally saying “death comes” in a mocking tone after she kills Reaper. While it remains to be seen what other voice lines have been added into Overwatch 2, there are likely many of them. After all, new heroes like Sojourn will have interactions with a majority of the cast, so fans can expect some interesting lore reveals in the beta and beyond. Based on the reaction to this clip, though, many would clearly like to see more post-kill voice lines.

Overwatch 2’s beta is set to release on April 26, so gamers will be able to recreate this voice line soon. With all signs pointing to Sombra being a top tier hero in the sequel, dialogue like this could be heard often.
