A member of the Overwatch 2 community has shared a brilliant clip of the server crashing just as they're pinned by an enemy Reinhardt, making it look as though the German crusader charged them into another map entirely. Anyone who has played a decent amount of Overwatch 2 over the past few weeks will likely recognize some of the infamous bugs that have been plaguing the game so far, with one being the apparently random server crashes that lead to lobbies of players being transferred suddenly to a new game.

The new title from Blizzard has taken social media by storm since its release in early October, and has received quite a bit of criticism from the gaming community due to the microtransactions and plethora of bugs that created a rough launch period for Overwatch 2. Players have experienced a number of errors both frustrating and amusing, ranging from things like heroes T-posing during emotes to more game-breaking issues like Bastion's ability to bombard half the map with his Ultimate ability.

The video provided by the Reddit user jmiranda005 shows the moment of a humorously-timed bug occurring. Playing as D.Va, the player was at the start of a defense game on Circuit Royal when the enemy team's Reinhardt charged and pinned them, carrying them across the map at high speed. It was during this charge that the server crashed, allowing for Reinhardt to seemingly charge the player through several buildings and out of the map bounds before the game closed and restarted on a new map.

This prompted many amused fans in the comments to suggest that Reinhardt carried them all the way to New York, the city which the new Midtown map is located in. Fortunately for the player, the match was just getting started when the glitch occurred, as server crashes cause games to conclude without deciding on a winning team, even if one side was in the lead.

Though the Overwatch 2 community found this particular instance quite funny, not every example of a server crash is so amusing. Unfortunately, fans see this problem quite often in the game, and it has even been seen to occasionally cause players to switch teams during Push games. Issues such as this have made many players especially wary of participating in ranked competitive matches, as these bugs can unfairly affect their skill ratings and interrupt the competitive experience.

Casual players enjoying games in the Quick Play playlists are still at risk of experiencing the bug, though such players might not feel as impacted by it in non-ranked matches. Thankfully, Blizzard continues to deliver regular fixes to patch these issues and enhance the player experience as the game's first season progresses.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
