A recent Overwatch 2 clip shared on Reddit revealed a major flaw with Roadhog’s legendary Cyclops skin, released as part of the Battle for Olympus event. This new time-limited game mode introduced new cosmetic elements to the game but isn’t free of flaws as some Overwatch 2 players noticed.

The Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus event started on January 5, bringing a new game mode where some heroes are granted God-like powers. This time-limited event came with a new set of skins for existing Overwatch 2 heroes, all inspired by Greek mythology. Among those skins, Roadhog received a Cyclops appearance turning him into an ancient creature wearing a mask with a single, large eye in the middle of the forehead. Since the removal of loot boxes in Overwatch 2, the only way for players to access this new skin is to purchase it through the in-game shop, spending 1,900 Overwatch Coins to unlock this appearance or buying the Cyclops Roadhog Bundle for 2,200 Overwatch Coins or $19.99 to unlock both the legendary Cyclops skin, a new victory pose, and a highlight intro where Roadhog lands a powerful crushing blow.

When playing with a teammate who purchased the Roadhog Cyclops skin, Reddit user beepsagan42 noticed a design flaw when the hero reloaded his weapon. Instead of adding new ammo to his shotgun, Roadhog opens his weapon and drops nothing in it, seemingly charging his Scrap Gun with air. While this flaw is not game-breaking and doesn’t change the way Roadhog behaves on the battlefield, some players were disappointed by the lack of attention given to this animation, especially since they paid to unlock this specific skin from the Battle for Olympus event.

The comments to this Reddit post revealed that the reloading animation bug does not happen in normal games but only appears when watching replays. Several Reddit users complained about regular bugs with the replay feature in Overwatch 2, which allows players to review their games from various angles and get a better understanding of what happened during the match. Other comments joked that the ammo came with the Overwatch 2 premium Battle Pass or that the weapon was filled with hopes and dreams.

The Battle for Olympus event raised a lot of concern within the Overwatch 2 community. Some players considered the new Medusa appearance for Widowmaker as a "pay to lose" skin, as the snakes on her head make noise that her opponents can use to spot the sniper without seeing her. Others deemed Battle for Olympus as the worst Overwatch 2 event, with Roadhog dominating the game mode and disappointing rewards for completing all the challenges.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
