One creative fan of Overwatch 2 has made their own design for the Competitive loading screen following a number of complaints from the community. This is just one example of fans going out of their way to suggest an improvement to an official design choice, and happens fairly regularly in games including Overwatch 2 and beyond.

Overwatch 2 has been dominating social media for reasons both good and bad since the early access launch of the game early last month, and has faced its share of criticism from parts of the community due to server issues, heaps of bugs, and the implementation of an expensive new shop. Another popular albeit less impactful complaint has been focused on the loading screen for the Competitive game mode, which unfortunately features a jagged and uneven display of the two competing teams.

In response to this, user BanklorrMak made a post on Reddit showing off their own design for the loading screen in Overwatch 2. Instead of displaying the lists of team members at a slant, the design features both teams as perfectly vertical lists which are opposed to each other at an equal distance. Similarly to the current screen, each player is represented with their name, avatar picture, namecard picture, and title, if equipped. With the player's team represented with the blue color and the enemy team with red, each player's role is also displayed and aligned correctly with an enemy player of the same role.

Although the current loading screen for the Competitive mode is only seen for a few seconds and is absent in the other, more casual playlists, it has nonetheless become a surprisingly vocal issue within the Overwatch 2 fanbase. Unsurprisingly, some players have even shifted away from the game's ranked playlist for now due to issues regarding server crashing, imbalanced matchmaking, and placement bugs which were unfairly affecting the ranks.

Although several of these issues have been resolved by Blizzard with more planned patches on the way, it's safe to say that the competitive game mode hasn't gone down well with some in the community due to the problems surrounding the game's launch. Matchmaking for the competitive and casual game modes alike continue to be one of the largest issues currently, and players hold on to hope that the developers will address the problem in the upcoming patch.

Regardless, while the loading screen may not be Overwatch 2's biggest issue at the moment, it is still good that creative players continue to provide suggestions for Blizzard in order to bring the best out of the game going forward.

Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
