The developers of Overwatch 2 share a hilarious video showing off a fan-suggested change to Cassidy's sticky grenade, allowing it to seek out an enemy Mei player from seemingly anywhere on the map. The game's creators were quick to assure players that this adjustment would never actually be implemented into the game, though the magnetic grenade ability that Cassidy uses in Overwatch 2 has been a source of frustration for many in the community since the game was released.Serving as a replacement for the flashbang grenade that Cassidy used back in the original Overwatch, his newer magnetic grenade serves as a traditional sticky grenade with noticeably generous aim assist. As might be expected, many players haven't held back in expressing their frustration towards Cassidy's ability in Overwatch 2, arguing that its level of tracking borders on unfair. Still, many in the community are in disagreement on whether it represents an improvement to Cassidy's original flashbang grenade, which previously allowed the character to freeze enemies in place temporarily and eliminate them nearly instantly with his Peacekeeper revolver.RELATED: Overwatch 2 Doesn't Let Players Shoot the Jesus StatueBlizzard appears to have leveraged the community's infamous distaste for Cassidy's magnetic grenade by sharing a Tweet which shows the ability locking on to an enemy Mei player from across the map. While they confirmed that the ability would of course never make it into the actual game, it seems the developers couldn't help testing the hilarious idea which was pitched to them by a player in the community with an apparent dislike of Mei. The video shows Cassidy's grenade locking on to an enemy Mei standing at least a few dozen meters away, traveling past a variety of other enemy heroes in order to seek out Mei specifically. Though the clip shows off an overpowered version of the ability, many fans joked that it was simply demonstrating how the ability seems to work in regular gameplay.

Needless to say, many in the community continually urge Blizzard to switch up Cassidy's abilities yet again. While the magnetic grenade offers Cassidy players a quick and easy method of finishing off a damaged target, players on the receiving end of the sticky bomb are left feeling like there's little they could have done to avoid it. Fans have suggested several ideas of how the abilities of the popular Overwatch 2 hero could be improved in future updates, such as the possibility of his dodge ability extinguishing fire.

While opinions among the Overwatch 2 community are many, a lot of players continue to feel disappointed by the balance patches delivered by Blizzard so far. Many newly-added heroes and remastered abilities have made the first couple of seasons of the game turbulent in terms of balancing, though the developers seem to remain determined to perfect the formula.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
