A Reddit user known as Takishado73 shared the replay code of their latest game where they believed they played with nine bots instead of humans with a similar rank. Players already reported a similar Overwatch 2 matchmaking issue last year, as they were complaining about their matches being ruined by an enemy team that seemed to act like bots.
Overwatch 2 Matchmaking Impacted by a Returning Issue
While the behavior of these players seem consistent with bots, there is no way to know for sure whether they are actual bots or players losing their matches on purpose. Blizzard is already aware of this issue and brought various Overwatch 2 Competitive changes to stop players from throwing matches.
On top of this supposed bot invasion, Overwatch 2 is allegedly banning players by mistake. Several Overwatch 2 players claimed they were banned from ranked mode without actually leaving their match, cheating, or exhibiting any toxic behavior toward the other players. These reports highlight a potential glitch in the Overwatch 2 penalty system, which seems to have randomly banned players.
