The PachiMarchi Event in Overwatch 2 has begun, allowing players to earn a large amount of XP for the battle pass. Since it was released as a free-to-play title last year, Overwatch 2 has implemented a battle pass structure not unlike Fortnite in order to draw more players into the first-person shooter. While Overwatch2 mainly focuses on the heroes, fans have taken a liking to the game’s innocuous mascot, Pachimari. The stuffed onion is often found in the background of maps, sitting idly by as players hunt down other heroes. The passion from the community was so great Blizzard even recognized the impact of Pachimari by hosting an event in celebration of the cuddly toy, which runs from March 21 to April 4.RELATED: Overwatch 2 Players Jump Off Map for a 'Redo' After Doomfist Accidentally Kills HimselfIn the PachiMarchi Event, players can partake in a new event, Roadhog’s Catch-a-Mari mode, in which players assume the mantle of the rotund character as he collects as many plushies as possible. A new set of challenges are put to players that when completed, unlock a sizable chunk of XP. One challenge is to simply use one jump pad in Roadhog’s Catch-a-Mari mode in return for 2500 XP. When players complete six of the challenges, a huge reward of 40,000 experience points will be gifted to their account. If all challenges are finished before the event ends, gamers can earn 80,000 XP on their Battle Pass.

Other rewards include a Pachimari weapon charm and several player icons, which can be unlocked by completing matches. It is worth noting that wins count as double progress, and thanks to the mid-season patch Overwatch 2 saw a number of buffs to tank characters, including Roadhog himself, so players certainly have the best opportunity to complete these challenges during the event.

Elsewhere, players have been having fun with the other playable characters along with exploiting a few bugs that can be found in the online shooter. One player has shown off a video where they utilized a glitch involving Junkrat to get a miraculous double kill by bouncing off Pharah’s head and activating his Rip-Tire move with humorous results.

The third season of Overwatch 2 began in February and is expected to run until April, although an exact date hasn’t been confirmed. Players still have time to farm those precious experience points to unlock in-game goodies. Along with the seasonal items, Overwatch 2 currently has a crossover with One-Punch Man, and gamers are able to unlock skins of the popular anime by completing specific challenges or by purchasing them in the shop.

Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
