Some Overwatch 2 players have recently discovered a new glitch which could allow Bastion to take permanent advantage of Kiriko's Kitsune Rush ability, allowing him to fire his weapons 50% faster even after the Ultimate ends. Although Kiriko's Ultimate Ability has been the cause of several similar problems with other heroes in Overwatch 2, this wouldn't be the first time that Bastion's abilities have been significantly affected by an unintended bug.

The game itself has seen its own share of technical problems since it released back in October, with Overwatch 2's reputation at launch being tainted due to queue times, server issues, and a whole lot of bugs which affected anything from animation loading to ability cooldowns, for some heroes. These issues were perhaps most evident for Torbjorn and Bastion - while Torbjorn was removed temporarily from ranked game modes due to a bug which allowed him to permanently use Overload, Bastion was completely removed from the game for a couple of weeks thanks to a glitch which allowed him to use his Ultimate Ability to bomb nearly half the map. Bastion wasn't the only character to be temporarily removed either, with Mei being temporarily put into the fan-dubbed "Overwatch jail" too due to her Ice Wall allowing players to access unintended areas.

One Overwatch 2 fan named pennyinthecity on Reddit put the spotlight on this bug by replicating it with the help of a friend and posting it on Reddit. The video details how this glitch affects the character while also providing instructions on how fans can replicate it themselves. It seems that by firing after switching out from turret mode and subsequently using his Ultimate Ability before the effects of Kitsune Rush end, Bastion is able to take permanent advantage of Kitsune Rush and fire 50% faster even after the Ultimate ends. These affects appear to persist not just after Kitsune Rush ends but also after Bastion respawns following a death, meaning that the character could essentially exploit this bug for a whole match.

Though players can fix the bug by using Artillery again or switching characters, many fans have been quick to point out that this glitch is purely visual in nature. While many are claiming that the apparent increase in fire rate isn't actually affecting the character's damage output, other players have contested that they've noticed a certain increase in damage when under the effects of this glitch during a match. It's possible that the bug could have different effects for different players, and some fans have pointed out that they've been able to exploit the glitch using Ramattra's form changes too.

Many fans have anticipated Blizzard's response to be the temporary removal of either Bastion or Kiriko while they fix it, but this might not be the case. Following a recent announcement, Blizzard has claimed that it intends to fix similar issues via hotfixes without removing heroes from the game.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
