Outriders features a vast array of perks for players to choose from across the game’s four classes, allowing them to pick a class path that caters to their playstyle. Experimenting with different class builds is highly encouraged, so players can easily switch up their playstyle by refunding their class points to allocate them into some different perks.

There is an impressive level of depth when it comes to customizing the abilities of a player’s character in Outriders, with each class having eight skills to choose from. Pairing the right skills with the right class paths is essential to getting the most out of a build.

To respec their class, Outriders players firstly need to refund their class points. It is important to know that players can refund their class points an unlimited amount of times and at no cost. Players are not bound to a particular pathway within the skill tree either and can respec into any of the other paths at any time if they feel like it.

To get class points refunded, players need to open their Inventory page and then navigate to the “Class” tab which features the player’s class skill tree.

There is a button prompt at the bottom-left corner of the screen that says “Reset Tree." When players follow the prompt, a warning message will appear asking players if they are sure they want to refund their class points. Choose “Yes, Reset” to continue.

Players will now have all their class points refunded, allowing them to allocate the points into different perks to respec their class. In this case, the Pyromancer player decided to switch from a Fire Storm build to a Tempest build.

If a player decides that they want to change something, or mistakenly chose the wrong perk, they can follow the “Cancel Unlocked” button prompt, also at the bottom-left of the screen to reset the tree again as many times as they want. A player’s class points will only be locked in when they close the Class tab, at which point they will have to fully reset their tree again if they want to make other changes.

Any players that are yet to reach the level cap and max out their class points may want to hold off on respecing fully as some of the best perks do not come until the end of each pathway. If players are struggling through the campaign, they should definitely consider lowering their World Tier before respecing into a different skill tree pathway that may be better.

However, experimenting with builds is very important in the endgame for Outriders, especially for the high-tier Expedition missions. Players need to ensure they can deal high damage and stay alive to get through the missions quickly and score the best loot.

Outriders is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
