Outriders fans who stopped playing might want to give the game another spin starting today, as People Can Fly and Square Enix are going to release an update that dramatically improves the base game. The update is called New Horizon, and it is completely free, despite it changing the very foundations of Outriders in many ways, from Expeditions to customization. The update is going live shortly, and it will be available for all regions at the same time.
Outriders New Horizon Release Time
The new Outriders update was announced yesterday during a streaming event, and it is coming today, for free, on all platforms. This is a list of different times for multiple time zones, so as to allow everyone to jump on board at the right time:
- 8 AM PT
- 9 AM MT
- 10 AM CT
- 11 AM ET
There should be no maintenance for Outriders New Horizon to go live today, and players should expect to be able to download the update at the listed time for their region. The update should become automatically available on every console, although it might be necessary to reboot them in order to make it show up properly after the official launch time.
After the update is fully downloaded, players will be able to log into the game and experience the content of Outriders New Horizon for free, including the new transmog system, which is very intuitive and requires no microtransactions nor in-game resources to use.
Another thing to note is that Outriders players will now be able to skip the cinematic intro whenever they launch the game, which New Horizon update, and the action is bound to a specific key or button.
Furthermore, New Horizon removes the timers from Expeditions, effectively reshaping the entire endgame experience and meta in Outriders, opening up many build options. There will also be four all-new Expeditions to make the endgame feel more diverse even to those players who completed everything prior to today's update.
As a reminder, this update does not include the Worldslayer expansion, which was teased yesterday during the streaming event and will come sometime in 2022. As announced, People Can Fly and Square Enix will come back with more information about Worldslayer in the Spring of next year.
Outriders New Horizon is available later today for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
