When Outriders launched at the start of April players had a litany of bugs that they had to contend with while playing the game. However, new numbers revealed by developer People Can Fly seem to show that the issues did little to hamper Outriders building a sizable fanbase.

Outriders is the new looter shooter that saw players fighting to help humanity colonize an alien planet. The game quickly grew an audience for itself despite Outriders players having to contend with a variety of bugs, including endgame loot disappearing from their inventory, damage bugs, crashing issues, and many others.

However, People Can Fly has announced that Outriders has surpassed 3.5 million players since its launch regardless of the issues. The player count does include players who played on Xbox Game Pass, but Outriders reportedly still sold very well despite its inclusion on the subscription service. The studio did not give any breakdown of what percentage of the players purchased the game or were playing through Xbox Game Pass, but they did release a few other interesting statistics as well. One impressive statistic was that as of May 1, Outriders was played for over 120 million hours with the average playtime players spent on the game being 31 hours.

The developers also revealed that players seem to prefer the Trickster class, with 27.9% of players choosing that class. The Pyromancer came in second, followed by the Technomancer and then the Devastator. Outriders also revealed that the player with the highest amount of playtime has clocked a staggering 797 hours, which is not all that surprising since even the Outriders demo had players putting in crazy amounts of time. Outriders also announced details on the game's next patch with the statistics. The patch is aiming to release on May 20, and primarily addresses an issue players were experiencing with damage mitigation that saw them getting one-shot by enemies.

It is really great to see that Outriders has been able to find so much success while launching on Xbox Game Pass. It is cool that the developers gave players a look at how many in the community are playing Outriders' Trickster class as it is interesting to see how the community is spread. It will be great if the game's upcoming patch can address the issues that players have been having with damage mitigation. It will be interesting to see just what else People Can Fly has planned for Outriders in the future, hopefully, fans will get some news at this year's upcoming E3 event.

Outriders is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
