Outer Wilds is an open-world exploration game that puts players on a constant 22-minute time loop through a beautiful outer space setting before the world explodes in a supernova. One of the tricky secrets gamers can discover in the game is how to reach Black Hole Forge. Black Hole Forge is the source for all the different warp cores in the game, which is helpful when dealing with the harsh deadline of the time loop in Outer Wilds.
The pathway to get to the Forge itself isn't hard to find. However, there are a few steps gamers need to take to overcome the obstacles blocking the way. So for Outer Wilds fans looking to uncover the secrets in the Black Hole Forge, here is how to get there.
Getting to Black Hole Forge in Outer Wilds
Hanging City
The first thing fans need to do is raise the Forge from the control panel at the Hanging City, within Brittle Hollow. A shortcut can be found by walking into a pathway carved into the ice within the North Pole.
Through here, go down the water and walk down the stairs until players reach the bottom floor. Instead of going through the circular hole in the floor, go through the crack in the ground next to the chunks of ice. Gamers should safely land in a puddle of water surrounded by some houses. Next, turn left and walk along the mountain until there is a descending staircase.
Go down the stairs to find the stone pedestal with the Nomai writing and scan it. This shows that this is where the control for the Forge is; by moving the glowing orb on the glass down, the Forge rises. Once this is done, it's time to leave and travel to Ash Twin to complete the rest of the process.
Ash Twin
Once at Ash Twin planet in Outer Wilds, players will need to travel along the equator to find the building that has the warp portal to the Black Forge. It will be a circular building that has a pathway leading up to it with lights.
Once in here, open the door in the back and continue along the path until players reach the second building with the Nomai writing. Scan all of it to learn about the early building process of the Ash Twin project. Then, go towards the purple gravity crystal on the wall and walk down until players are under the glass in the center of the room.
Black Hole Forge
For the last part, wait on the glass until the Brittle Hollow orbit aligns with Ash Twin through the viewing hole. If everything was done correctly, gamers should eventually be warped straight into Black Hole Forge. If not, players can always meditate in Outer Wilds if they need more time to redo the steps.
