Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a direct sequel to the hit platforming adventure game Ori and the Blind Forest, and so far the game has received positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Similar to the previous game, players play as Ori, a cute little spirit that absorbs nature’s light to gain new abilities. Players can use these abilities to fight hordes of enemies, solve puzzles in the world, and move around the map. Ori also has some Passive abilities called Shards, and these augment some of the abilities that Ori possesses. Some passives allow Ori to resist damage, while some grant him the power to stick to walls and so on.
At the beginning of the game, players only have the ability to equip three different Shards, but the number of shards can be increased by finding and beating five different Combat Shrines. These shrines are hidden, and it can be quite a challenge to find these shrines. However, this simple guide will help players find all five of the Combat Shrines available in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It’s important to note that some shrines are inaccessible when players find them for the first time, so they need to revisit these before heading over to the final battle.
Wellspring Glades Combat Shrine
Players need to head over to the Wellspring Glades and find the first enemy, which is a purple spitting plant. Now go upwards and then to the right to find the Shrine. Keep in mind that each Shrine will spawn multiple waves of enemies that players must defeat in order to get the Shard upgrades.
Inkmarsh Combat Shrine 1
Players must go to the southeast spirit well of Inkwater Marsh, and then head east until they come across a rock bridge. Now, use Spirit Smash on the rock bridge to destroy it and head inside to find the combat shrine.
Inkmarsh Combat Shrine 2
Head over to the tagged location in the above map. Once there, players will need to launch themselves up and dash east to reach the combat shrine. Beat all the enemies to get the Shard slot upgrade.
Silent Woods Combat Shrine
Before players float towards the Feeding Grounds, they need to drop down and find their way through various spikes. This is where they will find the combat shrine for the area.
Mouldwood Depths Combat Shrine
First of all, players need to acquire the Flash ability and then head over to the lower left part of this area. There will be a Moki in the location, just dive into the water and follow the path to find the lever and turn it on. Afterwards, just head upwards and climb up the platform to find the combat shrine.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is available for PC and Xbox One.
