Food plays a critical role in Ooblets, allowing players to replenish their energy and continue to farm and forage. That said, food must be consumed before fans will receive any of its benefits, and the way that is done may not be immediately obvious. Fortunately, it is quite easy to eat food in Ooblets, and this guide details how to perform this very important action on PC, Switch, and Xbox.

Ooblets: How to Eat

The first thing that players in need of nourishment must do is open their inventories. This is done by pressing Tab on PC, X on Switch, and Y on Xbox, and fans should confirm that the Stuff tab is selected when their inventory is open. Once that has been confirmed, players should hover over the food item that they wish to consume and prepare to perform the act.

In order to eat a selected food item, fans should press Y on Switch, X on Xbox, or right-click on PC. This action will open a list composed of several options, the first of which is "consume." Unsurprisingly, selecting that option will result in the Ooblets character eating the food, and its effects should be applied immediately thereafter.

To note, while some raw food items are edible, that is not the case with absolutely all of them. Indeed, some items function primarily as ingredients and must be cooked or made into drinks before they can be consumed. To perform these preparations players must use a Stove, Hotplate, or Kettle & Cup, crafting stations that fans can set up in their homes in Ooblets.

It is also worth mentioning that some prepared food items provide benefits beyond simply restoring energy. More specifically, there are several drinks that temporarily grant increased speed when they are consumed, allowing players to spend less time in transit. Ooblets' Beanjuice is one such drink that gives a speed boost, and fans may want to put some effort toward crafting this coffee-like drink.

Players can also purchase Beanjuice, and other drinks, directly from Cuddlecups Cafe if that is their preference. This is an option worth considering if a fan wants to gain some extra speed but is not yet equipped to create their own beverages. Players will need to hand over some of their Gummies in Ooblets in order to obtain beverages in this way, though, and they should ultimately plan to get a Kettle & Cup in their houses.

Ooblets is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One.
