Fishing has become something of a staple in video games like Ooblets. Not knowing what will latch onto the hook, there is an excitement and a mystery present throughout the entire cast. Who knows if the next thing fished up is going to be the next big deal?
At the start of Ooblets, this anticipation is short-lived. "Sea-dangling," as it is called in the game, never yields anything truly great or spectacular. Players will need better bait to catch something marvelous. Thankfully, there is a couple of simple steps to acquiring that bait.
Upgrading The Reconstitooter
Head to the fountain in the middle of Badgetown. Players should familiarize themselves with this location as it's the place to spend those hard-earned wishies. More upgrades are unlocked here as players level up the main character.
There are two upgrades for the Reconstitooter: one that makes it "faster" and one that makes it "even faster." Get some wishies really fast and buy them both. The description short sells what is actually purchased here. In addition to being faster, players will now have two upgraded kinds of bait to buy.
Getting Better Bait
Head to the new and fully-upgraded Reconstitooter on the pier. Now, instead of buying regular bait for ten slurries, gamers can also buy high-quality bait for thirty slurries and super bait for eighty slurries. This third option is currently as good as bait gets.
With the best bait, players can fish up huge piles of nurnies, which is useful since farming up nurnies isn't an easy thing to do. There are also rare resources to fish up that usually can't be created or received until much later in the game.
Although these better baits are more expensive, slurry eventually becomes relatively easy to acquire. By tossing in excess food and resources, some of which can cost double-digit slurries, gamers are well on their way to using any kind of bait at any time.
