To power farm nurnies and put everything else on hold, just keep smashing rocks on the farm. When out of energy, either drink something or take a nap, then get back to smashing. These rocks will repopulate over time. If the rocks run out, remember to upgrade the overall size of the farm.

Ooblets Getting Nurnies From A Log

Players who manage to destroy all the rocks on their property can then turn to weeds and logs. These have less of a chance to yield nurnies but are still much more likely than anything in the villages. Those who manage to clear out their entire property, especially after upgrading the size, will likely not need to worry much about nurnies for the rest of the game.

As a final piece of advice, don't ship out nurnies for orders until all equipment and shops have been upgraded. It's an easy way to get gummies, but nurnies are more valuable than gummies until the late-game stage.

Ooblets is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
