The long wait for Ooblets, the charming creature farming game from two-person studio Glumberland, is nearing its end. Today during the PC Gaming Show a brand new Ooblets trailer was shown, not only packed with fun new gameplay, but it also confirmed that Ooblets is coming to Early Access this summer.

It's tough to recall, but Ooblets was first announced way back in early 2017 at GDC. The game then looks similar, but polished to an impressive new level. For a two-person team, a couple of extra years of development is no surprise. For the game to come out looking so great with just a two-person team behind it, that is definitely surprising.

Ooblets, for those who aren't familiar, is a farming and creature collecting sim. Its trailers hint at ideas from Stardew Valley, Pokemon, Viva Pinata, Animal Crossing, and more. The dancing is entirely its own, though. Despite all those recognizable influences, however, exactly what Ooblets' gameplay and story will be like is mysterious.

For a young new studio, Glumberland's development of Ooblets has gone through some challenging spots. First, its publisher Double Fine was acquired by Microsoft and no longer pursued publishing games. Glumberland decided to self-publish Ooblets and secured funding by becoming an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC, resulting in a wave of online harassment. For such a charming, optimistic, and positive game, it received a lot of negativity. With Early Access, however, Gluberland now gets to see the excitement and positivity it's built.
