One Piece: Could Bonney Become A Straw Hat, Explained

The next Straw Hat could be someone other than Yamato or Carrot. It could be Jewelry Bonney.

Naturally, a big aspect of Zoro's character is his strength and his thirst for it. To that end, Zoro has trained relentlessly over the course of the 1100 chapters in the story and put himself through several ordeals. Zoro has, thus, acquired tremendous strength and one of his strongest abilities in the story is Asura. Fans know this power to be one of his strongest and, his final Asura in the Final Saga of One Piece is certainly going to be special.

What Is Zoro's Asura?

Zoro

Zoro has quite a lot of amazing powers up his sleeve. Fans know him to be a master of the Three Sword Style and Zoro chose three swords simply because he felt the more swords he carries, the greater his advantage in battle would be. Of course, this isn't entirely accurate, however, it still stuck with Zoro and he has made it his own fighting style over the years. Zoro has completely mastered the Three Sword Style to the point where he is a Swordmaster in One Piece at the moment. Not only has he trained his ferocious swordplay to the absolute maximum, but he has also trained his senses to the point where his enemies can sometimes get scared merely by his aura itself.

Speaking of Zoro's aura, he is often known to have a demonic aura. Many characters have noticed Zoro to have a certain bloodthirst at times and others have outright compared his spirit to that of a demon. Zoro has connections to some demon-like entity that fans do not know much about at the moment, and can only hope that they get answers to in the Final Saga. One of the spiritual entities that Zoro sometimes manifests is Asur. Asura appears to be a manifestation of Zoro's own spirit or willpower.

This manifestation has been seen by fans on a few occasions now and, when this happens, Zoro is at his very best. Essentially, Asura sees Zoro actually summon a spirit that can be seen by people around him. This demonic spirit then manifests into two more heads and four more arms and legs for Zoro. This gives him the ability to utilize the infamous Nine Sword Style, which triples Zoro's attack power and makes him incredibly dangerous to take on in battle.

Zoro's Many Asura Usages

Zoro uses Asura for the first time

Zoro has manifested the power of Asura on several occasions in One Piece. The very first time Asura was used by Zoro was in the Enies Lobby arc. In this arc, Zoro was up against Kaku and this required him to surpass his very own limits. While Zoro certainly could hold his own against Kaku, he needed more than just that. To push himself beyond his limits, Zoro ended up manifesting his spirit and used Asura for the very first time. Once he manifested the powerful Nine Sword Style, it became incredibly apparent to the fans that he was now much stronger than Kaku.

The power of the Nine Sword Style was such that he ended up vaporizing Kaku's attack in an instant. Zoro himself landed an incredible blow called Asura Silver Mist on Kaku, which ended up defeating him altogether.

Kishimoto Reveals The Biggest Difference Between Naruto And Oda's One Piece

One Piece and Naruto are similar in many ways, however, there's a key difference.

Later on, on the island of Sabaody, Zoro entered his Asura state once again. There, he fought against a Pacifista of Kuma and, given how tough this thing was, Zoro absolutely needed to bring out his very best. It must be remembered, however, that even Asura wasn't enough to take down the Pacifista at the time and that just goes to show that this Asura form isn't overpowered enough to simply defeat anyone in One Piece.

After the timeskip, the very first time that fans saw Zoro tap into the power of Asura was when he fought against Kaido. This battle saw Zoro push to his very extreme and to the brink of death itself. When his back was against the wall, Zoro tapped into the power of Asura and delivered a powerful blow to Kaido. Normally, Asura would not have been as strong as it was in this encounter, however, unknowingly, Zoro tapped into the power of Conqueror's Haki and successfully managed to overpower the Yonko. Zoro used the technique called Moja no Tawamure and successfully managed to scar Kaido across the chest before finally being defeated by him. In his fight against King, Zoro did not rely on Asura at all, meaning that his strongest ace was not even utilized by him in this battle.

Zoro's Final Asura

Zoro's Asura

It is clear for the fans to see that Asura is Zoro at his very strongest. This ability triples his sword power and gives him some demonic abilities in battle. He also becomes incredibly strong to the point where he can hold his own against hybrid form Kaido for a moment and even scar him across the chest. Of course, when Zoro gains full control over this ability, his skill will improve even further. Fans should expect Zoro to use his final Asura in the Final Saga of One Piece. The perfect moment for him to bring this ability out would be when he fights against Mihawk. Perhaps, Oda was always saving this power for when he clashes against his former mentor and finally defeats him. As to how the final Asura will differ from the current one, it is quite easy for the fans to picture that.

Ever since Zoro last used his Asura, the biggest power that he has gained is the ability of the King of Hell mode. Zoro has this incredible power up his sleeve and he can effectively tap into both Armament and Conqueror's Haki to coat his swords at the same time. This means that when Zoro uses his Nine Sword Style, he could make use of the King of Hell mode in conjunction with it. The power of Asura, combined with the King of Hell, is what makes Zoro quite a powerful enemy for anyone. This power is one that would likely be used by Zoro in his fight against Mihawk and, to overcome him, he will then utilize this incredible attack, which would likely push him over the edge and help him claim the title of the strongest swordsman in the world. In doing so, Zoro then fulfills his promise to Kuina as well. Fans already know that Zoro is going to be one of the strongest characters in One Piece when he hits his absolute prime and, seeing him master this incredible power would be taking a right step in that direction.
