The parents of a character have a crucial role in their upbringing. Those who are lucky enough to have good parents end up following the path of righteousness and staying away from all kinds of evil. In One Piece itself, there are many incredible parents who have sacrificed their own lives to facilitate the growth of their children.

One Piece: 15 Powerful Quotes By Zoro

Roronoa Zoro is one of the central characters of the One Piece anime. As such, he has delivered quite a few memorable quotes.

But, as always, there are exceptions. Fans have seen many parents, including fathers, who couldn't care less about what happened to their children. These characters deserve to be called the worst fathers in One Piece.

6 Monkey D. Dragon

Left His Son

One Piece's Revolutionary Army Supreme Commander

Monkey D. Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army. He formed the organization in order to help the people who were struggling because of their oppressive rulers. Dragon is the father of Monkey D. Luffy, but he abandoned him while he was still very young.

Dragon probably wanted to keep Luffy away to not let any harm come to him. He even stopped Smoker from capturing Luffy and throwing him into prison. While Dragon's intentions were certainly noble, it was terrible for him to let Luffy live without either of his parents. He is not the worst father in One Piece, but he's not the best either.

5 Outlook III

A Noble Obsessed With Power

Outlook 3 worst fathers in one piece

Outlook III is the father of Sabo and the husband of Didit. Outlook III did not care about Sabo's well-being, and, as a matter of fact, he was only interested in ensuring that his son behaved like a royal. Outlook III wasn't concerned with what Sabo wanted to become in his life. As a noble, he was obsessed with power, for which he was willing to go to any lengths.

Throughout his adventure, Luffy has freed many One Piece countries from their oppressors.

Outlook III was only interested in the family name, to the point where he was willing to frame innocent kids. He even adopted Sterry in case Sabo failed to live up to his standards. A person with such a flawed way of thinking could never become a good father.

4 Kaido

Locked Up His Own Child

Kaido was one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. He was a ruthless individual who only respected those who were strong. Kaido had one child, named Yamato, who was heavily inspired by Kozuki Oden. Due to this reason, there was a lot of tension between Kaido and his child. It reached the point where Kaido locked Yamato inside a cave.

There is a strong chance that he even physically hit Yamato and caused him mental harm. Kaido was clearly not a good father, and the only good thing that he ever did for Yamato was to acknowledge his existence.

3 Yasopp

Prioritized His Freedom Over His Family

Yasopp of the Red Hair Pirates

Yasopp is one of the many members of the Red Hair Pirates. He joined the crew when Usopp was still a baby, and he never returned to check up on him. While Yasopp was away, Usopp lived alone with his mother, who eventually fell sick and died. Usopp had to take care of her, but there wasn't much that he could do.

Yasopp never thought about checking on his family and what became of them. Yasopp and Usopp have yet to meet, but when they do, the latter might punch his father for leaving them alone.

2 Morgan

Physically Attacked His Son

axe hand Morgan worst fathers in one piece

Morgan was a Marine captain who was in charge of the Marine base in Shells Town. He was feared by everyone because of his towering stature. Morgan had an axe on his right hand, which terrified the people. He bullied everyone and made sure that they obeyed him. Morgan didn't have a good relationship with Helmeppo.

While he did let Helmeppo take advantage of his position, Morgan only did so to get him out of his hair. Morgan had no affection toward his son, and he would even beat him if he got the chance. Helmeppo was scared of him and couldn't even talk. Having your child live in fear is one of the worst things that a parent could do.

1 Vinsmoke Judge

Saw His Kids As Tools

Vinsmoke Judge in One Piece anime

Vinsmoke Judge is the ruler of the Germa Kingdom and the patriarch of the Vinsmoke family. Before settling down to start his own family, Judge was a part of MADS, an illegal scientific group that conducted all sorts of experiments without the interference of the World Government. During his time with the other scientists, Judge learned a lot about other things, including the Lineage Factor.

When his wife was pregnant, Judge decided to use his knowledge to turn his kids into scientific weapons. The experiment was successful, and almost every single one of his kids got genetic powers that made them unstoppable in combat. The only exception was Sanji, who remained a normal child.

Judge did not like Sanji and often called him a failure. He imprisoned his son and even put a mask over his face, hoping that no one would find out about the connection between the two. Even after Sanji ran away, Judge came back into his life forcibly and decided to use him as a pawn to form an alliance with Big Mom. It won't be an exaggeration to call him the worst father in One Piece.
