Pirates are vagrants of the sea, and when this concept is displayed cinematically, a beautiful world of adventures is what viewers expect. These adventures are the experience to obsess over and what the creator must further explore to put a profound and diverse structure in place. For One Piece, Eiichiro Oda has built a dynamic and expansive world that circulates the needed blood and vital substances to bring the world of One Piece to life. The islands and landscapes, backstories, and political structures are a big part of what makes the anime distinct from many others. One Piece's immersive and regal part is explored in the Grand Line, where the real power systems and the bewildering events unfold. Before the straw hat pirates ventured into the Grand Line, they went to Arlong Park, where they saw different types of humans without devil fruits called fishmen. They are strong and possess fish-like qualities. One Piece fans must have thought they might not see humans of this nature again in the series after Luffy crushed their leader.

However, this is just Oda fleshing out his story. Beyond the East Blue are the wonders of the Grand Line, which the straw hats explore one after the other. Oda ensures an island at every turn, each with its unique characteristics. For the Grand Line, it is not just about using sea charts to locate an island but with the use of the log pose, another impressive feat with the ideation of the Den Den Mushi. Throughout One Piece, Oda's ingenuity and craft bring each arc in the series to life in an order that makes it feel natural and long for more to come.

Little Garden Arc Connection To Enies Lobby

Enies-Lobby-Arc-1

At Little Garden, Luffy and his crew met with two warring giants, Dorry and Gorry, with some prehistoric creatures. These giants belonged to Elbaf and have been fighting for years to seek out the strongest. These giants later became friends with the straw hats, but not after the crew incurred the hatred of Crocodile, one of the sea warlords.

Troubles always follow the straw hats, and after a series of adventures at sea, they end up in Enies Lobby, the world government fort. During the war that unfolds at Ennies Lobby, they meet with two giants, Oimo and Kashi, who were tricked by the world government into manning the fort's main gate. However, these two giants later defected to the Straw Hat side when they learned that their captains, Dorry and Broggy, were safe on an island and not imprisoned like the Navy made them believe.

Alabasta Arc & The Mystery It Holds In One Piece

Alabasta Finale

Alabasta is where the straw hats had their first test against a big dog and warlord of the sea, Crocodile. The crew helped princess Vivi regain control of her kingdom from the evil Crocodile. But what does this arc holds for the future of One Piece?

For Crocodile, he made a significant impact at Impel Down and the war at Marineford and knowing Oda's style of unearthing characters and putting them into the limelight, Crocodile probably still have a role to play in the future. However, a mystery remains unresolved; what does the mystery human, who the five elders revere, want with princess Vivi? What is more to Alabasta that Oda has yet to show? It may be part of why Crocodile wishes to rule the kingdom beyond his authoritarian nature.

The Straw Hat Pirates And The Little People Of Tontatta Kingdom

Tontatta Pirates Cropped

The straw hat pirates' adventure took them beyond an island on the sea. With the knock-up stream, Luffy's crew ventured into Skypeia, an island located in the cloud with enormous gold, as written in Noland's book of adventure. They sailed through the White Sea for the lost city of gold described by Noland. This arc was a big test for One Piece fans as they await how Oda will link up the city in the cloud to events in the Grand Line. As the series progresses, the straw hats finally reach Dressarosa in another great fight with another powerful enemy, Donquixote Doflamingo.

In Dressarosa, Luffy meets with many gladiators at the Colosseum, who significantly impact the finale of the Dressarosa arc. Coupled with the allies at the Colosseum, the straw hats encountered the little people of Tontatta Kingdom, who are comrades of Noland. Apparently, Noland is a hero that saved the Tontatta tribe many years ago, and through the straw hat affiliation with Noland's story, they quickly made them allies when needed. This is all part of the great Oda making an impressive edifice pivotal to the series of grander events.

Water 7 and Gol D. Roger's Ship

Young Franky Trying To Stop The Puffing Tom

Gol D. Roger is the great king pirate who ushered in a new era of pirates. Among his numerous adventures is his travel to Water 7, where he meets with Tom, Franky's mentor and father figure. Tom and Franky are old friends, and his affiliation with the pirate king foreshadows the crises he later faces with the world government after his death. Franky later grows up to become part of the crew of the man who would most likely be the pirate king.

Oda didn't just captivate Otakus with the worldbuilding but also with the underlying themes some of this portray. Punk Hazard delves into the theme of human destruction, which can be compared to the devastating aftermath of Hiroshima Nagasaki, where nothing ever grows again. For Sabaody Archipelago, it explores discrimination and human trafficking, a phenomenon that exists beyond the fantastical world of One Piece. Oda systemizes the world of One Piece to influence every part of the story. For every arc in One Piece, it unwraps something new and formidable. Oda's worldbuilding in One Piece and his style of making a thread of events of over two decades relevant makes the anime pertinent and eventful till today.
