These Worst Generation members did not make it very far.

At their hearts, Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates only have the goal of liberating those in need and helping out friends. To that end, they have even taken part in several wars and, in doing so, freed a lot of people. While some have been small-scale wars, others have seen whole countries erupt and be pushed on the verge of destruction.

6 Arabasta Civil War

One Piece The Desert Princess and the Pirates Adventures in Alabasta movie

The very first war that the fans saw in One Piece was the Arabasta Civil War. This war was central to the Arabasta Saga and was built up right from the beginning of the Straw Hats' journey in the Grand Line. As soon as the crew met Vivi, they were made aware of the fact that Arabasta was currently in a very desperate position and was being destroyed by its very own people.

The person pulling the strings from the shadows was none other than Crocodile, the leader of Baroque Works. The Straw Hat Pirates decided to help Vivi and, together, the group sailed to Arabasta. There, the civil war fought by 400,000 people against the monarch of the country was showcased exquisitely by Oda and it was certainly an interesting event. The Straw Hat pirates were central to it and, at the end of it all, they were the ones who took down Baroque Works and exposed Crocodile for the fraud that he was. Having been devoid of rain for years, when Crocodile fell, the country was finally blessed once again and all wars finally stopped.

5 Skypiea War On Upper Yard

Enel Blasting Luffy With Lightning In One Piece

The Straw Hat Pirates ended up becoming central to yet another war immediately after as they sailed to the Sky Island of Skypiea. On this island, there was a sacred piece of land, which the winged people called the Upper Yard. On the Upper Yard, a war was being fought between three major factions. One of them were the Shandora people, who rightfully claimed this land to be theirs. Then there were the Skypieans, who believed this piece of land to be sacred to them and, of course, there was Enel's Army, who didn't particularly care about anyone and just wanted to see the island destroyed.

The Straw Hat Pirates adventured across the Upper Yard and ended up taking part in the war, fighting all parties at the same time. In the end, it was Luffy who took down Enel and, with that, the destruction of the entirety of Skypiea was pushed back. Luffy was revered as a hero and a savior and, with that, the straw hat pirates returned to the Blue Sea.

4 Enies Lobby War Against The Government

Another war that the Straw Hat Pirates took part in was the one against the World Government that they declared in Enies Lobby, in order to get Robin back. This war was fought against quite a lot of Marines and World Government officials. The strongest foes that they had to face were the members of the CP9.

Nearly every member of the Straw Hat Pirates took on powerful enemies and ended up beating them. Furthermore, the crew also faced a powerful Buster Call at the end of it all, however, it was Merry who came to their rescue. Both Robin and Franky were successfully rescued and the crew sailed back to Water 7, having destroyed the World Government forces on that day.

3 Paramount War (Only Luffy)

One Piece Whitebeard Pirate

The Paramount War was the biggest war that was fought in One Piece prior to the timeskip. Unfortunately, all the members of the Straw Hat Pirates could not make it to the war. Luffy was the only one who took part in it, however, given that he is the captain of the crew, the entire pirate group was certainly represented. Luffy fought alongside the many allies that he made in Impel Down and tried his best to rescue his brother, Ace.

At the end of it all, he certainly did succeed in saving the life of his brother, however, when his own life was in danger, Ace did not think twice before sacrificing himself. This felt like a failure and a reminder of the fact that he was way too weak to protect those close to him. This war was incredibly massive and ended with the death of both Ace as well as Whitebeard. The person who put an end to this war was none other than Shanks. It also triggered the two-year timeskip and marked the beginning of the second part of the story.

2 The War Of Wano

Quite easily one of the very best wars seen in One Piece came in the Wano arc. In order to liberate the land of Wano after 20 years of misery, Luffy allied with the samurai and the Mink Tribe in order to defeat the Emperor of the Sea, Kaido. There were quite a lot of other additions to the forces as well, such as Big Mom, Law, and Kid.

Powerful forces went against each other and, at the end of the day, Luffy carried the weight of the country on his back and delivered as he crushed Kaido completely. A Battle of 10,000 versus 30,000 ended up in the favor of the underdogs.

1 Egghead War

The most recent and ongoing war in One Pieceis the Egghead War. This war sees the Straw Hat Pirates and Vegapunk barricaded in Egghead, being faced with a siege laid by the Marines. There are 100 marine ships surrounding Egghead Island and, on those ships are 30,000 marine soldiers, including nine Vice Admirals and one Marine Admiral, Kizaru.

There is also one of the Five Elders, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, who is present and this war is certainly going to be Luffy's first test as a Yonko of the Sea. It is an exciting war that will lead to the groundbreaking event, called the Egghead Incident. Fans can only hope that it lives up to all expectations.
