Expectedly, quite a lot of information started flowing in as soon as the crew stepped out of the closed land of Wano and once they arrived on Egghead, these revelations started to affect the plot significantly. The Egghead Island arc itself is quite intense and might just have enjoyed the greatest start to any One Piece arc to date. As such, fans have very high expectations for this arc.

Effectively, much of the Egghead Island arc is focused around Dr. Vegapunk. Fans have been teased about his existence since before the timeskip of the story and the Egghead Island arc is where he made his debut.

Fans got to see his backstory, however, not everything about his character has been revealed to the fans just yet. As the Egghead Island arc unravels, it is likely that Oda will reveal more bits about the mysterious character that is Dr. Vegapunk, and things such as his true allegiance, along with his goals, will be revealed.

6 The Truth About Kuma

Bartholomew Kuma is a former member of the Shichibukai who was enslaved by the World Nobles. During the Reverie arc, he was finally freed by the members of the Revolutionary Army who attacked the Holy Land of Mariejois and declared war against the World Nobles. Now, Kuma is currently on Momoiro Island, along with other members of the Revolutionary Army.

The majority of his character remains to be a mystery, however. It is unknown why Kuma allowed himself to become a test subject for Dr. Vegapunk and what information he collected from his time with the World Nobles. It is also not known why Kuma guarded the Sunny for 2 years and what his true goal is. Fans expect the Egghead Island arc to deliver an answer to all these questions.

Vegapunk has been working on the Pacifica Project since before the timeskip. In fact, even before X Drake left the Navy, he was already aware of the progress being made on these human weapons. Fans got glimpses of their powers shortly after the Wano Country arc concluded, with Seraphim Mihawk and Hancock attacking Amazon Lily and Seraphim Jinbe engaging in combat with the Straw Hat Pirates. These Seraphim are incredibly powerful, however, the extent of their abilities has not yet been revealed. Captain Koby is known as the Hero of the Rocky Port Incident and is one of the key characters that Oda has written in the Navy. Ever since Garp started training him, Koby has grown tremendously as a fighter. At the same time, his sense of justice has also evolved with time.

Koby was central to the events that succeeded the Reverie and was sent to Amazon Lily to capture Boa Hancock. Unfortunately for him, he stood no chance and was later captured by Yonko Blackbeard. Koby's fate remains unknown, however, the remaining SWORD team of his is currently on Egghead Island. Since Captain Koby's capture is a part of this arc, the resolution of this plot line will most likely be seen in this arc as well.

3 Blackbeard's Rise

One Piece is finally in its last saga and, as expected, Blackbeard is one of the biggest antagonists that will stand in Luffy's path here. Ever since he left Whitebeard's crew, he has been growing in power consistently. In fact, recently, he's been getting even stronger, thanks to his Devil Fruit hunt.

In the Egghead Island arc, Blackbeard attacked Trafalgar Law in the New World in an attempt to steal his Road Poneglyph rubbings. The outcome of this fight is not known at the moment, however, more likely than not, Blackbeard will have emerged victorious and risen to a point where he is one of the people closest to the One Piece itself.

2 Luffy Gets Closer To Dragon

Monkey D. Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army and, more importantly, Luffy's very own father. As fans know, the two have not met just yet, however, the day when they will meet is rapidly approaching. This is something that Dragon has acknowledged himself in the past and with the Egghead Island arc uniting Luffy with his father's close friend, Dr. Vegapunk, their reunion is now closer than ever.

Recently, fans saw Vegapunk ask Luffy to take him away from Egghead and the most obvious destination for him to go would be to his old friend, Dragon. If that does come to pass, Luffy will finally unite with his father for the very first time since his birth. Undoubtedly, it will be a sight to behold and even Oda will have wanted to draw this for years.

1 Kuma And Bonney

Jewelry Bonney, one of the members of the Worst Generation just like Luffy, was reintroduced in One Piece during the Egghead Island arc. She was headed to the island to question Vegapunk about why he turned Kuma into a cyborg. As the arc unraveled, it was revealed that Kuma was Bonney's father and she intends to help him somehow.

Bonney is most likely going to be a key character in the Egghead Island arc. But more importantly, once the crew departs from the island, she will likely tag along to where Vegapunk wants to go, which is most likely going to be to the Revolutionary Army. In doing so, Bonney will finally reunite with her father and every secret about their relationship that Oda has not explained yet will finally be revealed.
