One Piece Chapter 1066 revealed many significant new details that could shape the upcoming arcs. For the last few chapters, the focus has been on Dr. Vegapunk and his connection to the story. In the earlier chapters of the Egghead Island arc, it was revealed that Vegapunk had created six satellites to help him with his work.

These six satellites are: Shaka, Lilith, Edison, Pythagoras, Atlas, and York. Each satellite has a different responsibility that they must carry out without fail. As the Straw Hats came into contact with these six satellites, they learned more and more about the world. In the latest chapter, Shaka told the Straw Hats about the tragedy of Ohara.

What Happened In Ohara

Clover lead scholar of Ohara

Twenty-two years ago, the scholars of Ohara managed to find out the true history of the world. They managed to decipher the Poneglyphs, and it allowed them to understand what happened in the Void Century. The scholars of Ohara were well aware of the risks that came with this undertaking. However, as they had devoted themselves to knowledge, they decided to continue, and eventually, they found what they were looking for. However, they could not impart this knowledge to other people as the World Government had already caught a whiff of their operations.

It is a well-known fact that the World Government has forbidden the reading of Poneglyphs and any person who tries to go against this rule faces certain death. When the World Government found out about the scholars of Ohara, they wasted no time in sending the Marines to the location. The Five Elders talked to Clover, who revealed that they had found out about an ancient kingdom that existed several centuries ago. Once it was confirmed that the scholars had indeed broken the law, the Five Elders wasted no time in initiating a Buster Call. This resulted in all the scholars being rounded up and killed. The civilians were rounded up and sent on a ship, only to be killed by Akainu. The sole survivor of this tragedy, or so it seemed at the moment was, Nico Robin.

The Aftermath

Vegapunk and Dragon at Ohara

Until the latest chapter, fans were under the impression that Nico Robin was the only person who had managed to survive the massacre. However, in Vegapunk's flashback, it was revealed that there was another person who had managed to stay alive. This person was Jaguar D. Saul, who was frozen by Aokiji and presumed dead.

According to Vegapunk, he saw some giants from Elbaf digging up the books that the scholars had tried to save. These giants were working under the leadership of Saul, who was wrapped up in bandages. With the confirmation that Saul is alive, it is entirely possible that the person Kid mentioned toward the end of the Wano Country arc is the giant. Kid mentioned a man with burn marks, and Saul could very likely be the person that he is searching for.

Dragon and the Will of Ohara

Monkey D Dragon and Vegapunk

Monkey D. Dragon also visited Ohara after the tragedy, and at the time, he was the leader of the Freedom Fighters. Apparently, Dragon had also invited Vegapunk to join his group, but the latter had turned down the offer as the Freedom Fighters couldn't provide him with the necessary funding needed for his experiments. Seeing the condition of Ohara, Dragon was enraged, and he wanted to do something to change the world. Dragon told Vegapunk that the "Will of Ohara" lives on and that he will take down the World Government.

Vegapunk was quite shocked after hearing Dragon's words as he considered him a man of peace. Before leaving, Vegapunk told Dragon not to lose sight of the goal, which implies that both of them share a common target. Shaka revealed that before the turn of the year, Dragon successfully managed to form the Revolutionary Army with the help of Ivankov and Bartholomew Kuma. It is obvious that Dragon has been heavily inspired by the people of Ohara, and this explains why Nico Robin was dubbed the "Flame of the Revolution." Without Robin and the scholars of Ohara, Dragon would never have formed the Revolutionary Army to take down the World Government. This increases the significance of the people of Ohara even further.

Will Dragon Achieve His Goal?

Monkey D. Dragon

Dragon is focused on defeating the World Government and freeing the world from their clutches, but he knows better than anyone else that it won't be an easy task. The World Government is a massive organization, so the Revolutionary Army stands no chance of winning in an open fight. Furthermore, Dragon seems to have lost his chief of staff in the incident that took place in the Lulusia Kingdom.

Losing Sabo would be a big blow for Dragon and his ambition of saving the world. However, Dragon has managed to get Kuma back, which could prove to be really helpful. According to many prominent theories, Kuma acted as the sacrifice to pass information between Vegapunk and Dragon. If this turns out to be true, then Dragon will learn many secrets about the World Government and possibly Imu. While this information is undoubtedly important, it wouldn't be enough to take down the World Government. However, if they have agents working for the World Government that can subvert them, then the Revolutionary Army has a good chance of changing the tide in their favor.
